April 2025 and infernal compasses simply not dropping at all. Am paragon 180ish and had a few earlier but no drops in NMD, helltide chests, or the pit. This sucks. I read there is a questline that shows up in Tier 3, am on tier 3 and do not see the questline.
They drop in whisper caches… take the one that says Dungeon Keys.
You can also buff the caches in the Season blessing with the Urn of Whispers.

You have to have VoH for that. If you dont have the expansion, you will never get them like runes. Also, like Bill said, buff the season stuff.
Yes there is a questline but its tied to VoH expansion to unlock it. If you never played that part of the campaign (but skipped) it should be completed for you.
They drop often in the Tree of Whispers cache. Just do the green areas.

I have all seasons blessings maxed out. Played today for several hours and not ONE compass dropped, and I was focused mainly on whispers. No compasses dropping in whisper chests. Makes masterworking gear pointless, as NDM only provide a limited amount and for high level masterworking you need tons os obcudite. Obcudite should be gained from scrapping gear. I don’t want to play if I can’t max out gear.
All the rewarding activities are gatekept. Which makes a certain amount of sense, but it seems season 8 may solve that dilemma
by making them both gatekept AND unrewarding
