It is difficult to fathom but it looks like Blizzard forgot to code the damage for all switched damage types.
For example, if you switch incinerate to disintegration, the damage dealt to enemies lacks all shock visuals when they die. You can easily see the difference when you use a basic skill like electric blast.
Also for chain lightning switch to cold means enemies never freeze, and other skills. The switch to new damage type simply lacks all visual effects those damage types are supposed to affect on enemy deaths.
Anyway, I uninstalled the game after seeing this. This is not bug per se, but total incompetency and lack of having any QC pipelines.
There is a massive laundry list of things wrong with the sorcerer and of all of them someone noticed that enemies donât have the proper on-death effects. It really takes a village to raise a video game.
Too many TGI fridays during development. Except it was every day. That much is clear. What exactly did they even do during development? They implemented things, sure. But how can so many of the things they implemented not work properly?
They just tossed everything in at once without testing it. Now they have to test it and fix it. During development it was just all out full send. Put it in the pot, mix it up. Dinner is served.
Namesake boss. Wonât get skipped. Both future franchise earnings (whoâs gonna buy D5 if Diablo never shows up in D4?) and recent staffing changes & pronouncements (incl. new Blizz presidentâs interest in the franchise) attest to this.
Also, Iâll go out on a limb & bet that D4 is the highest-earning ARPG of all time (ignoring Immortal), and has many millions of players each cycle - possibly close to ten million active players each year (and growing, since China officially opened up just a few months ago). They buy skins. Theyâre not going to want to abandon their investments for D5 anytime soon. This explains how content got spread out, about as well as anything else (such as Rodâs managerial failings).

Canât tell from your syntax if youâre trolling, and too many of you parasitically infest these places. Blizzard has no problem finding incompetent âmasculinesâ to poop out bad code & oversee bad processes: behold! Systems lead (demoted about a year ago)⌠behold! Game directors (x3 so far )⌠behold! âDiablo bossâ (until he failed upwards almost a year ago).
Forum standards are even lower than Blizzardâs entry-level pay packages⌠and yet here you are, advertising your ignorance, psychological hangups, and probable loneliness for strangers online.
thatâs not a good attitude for a business, even a big business with deep pockets. Tick enough customers off, not only do we leave, but we never come back and we never recommend your products to family & friends. Those 2 things will hurt you big time. If Blizzardâs attitude mirrors yours, then they are in for a world of trouble down the track I suspect.
Initial game release was OK, but not great. 1st patch killed it for many, including myself. Returned for the last 2 weeks of s11, levelling a character first in campaign before playing the last week of s11. Played s12 and enjoyed it. Didnât do any good, but did enjoy it and the game was in a much better place than when I left over 2 years ago. I stand by my words that the LOH expansion has ruined it again and put it back where it was on that 1st main patch release. Less build diversity, more builds nerfed, a few OP as hell builds that arenât being nerfed to balance the game, terrible RNG loot drop rate, horrible horadric cube (the general idea is good, but the implementation with rarity of mats to do anything with this tool is a joke).
Iâve really tried to like LOH, but just not feeling it. I only bought the LOH expansion cos it was bundled with the VOH expansion, which I didnât own and I wanted to play with runes in s12.
Blizzard hid details of the actual changes to the game with the LOH expansion cos it knew the masses would hate the changes and not buy the expansion. They promised us a Ferrari and gave us a lemon instead. The old switcherroo.
Once bitten, twice shy and have learned my lesson. As another user on these forums wisely said to me, donât blind buy any future games from Blizzard. Wait until a few weeks post release and research the hell out of it and see if itâs for you or not. If I had had clearer details on what the LOH expansion would do the game, I would not have purchased the bundled VOH/LOH expansion, and instead, either played the base game, or more likely, just uninstalled the entire thing, freed up space on my PS4âs hard drive and got on with life and did other things.
Thereâs a growing silent majority who feel the same way that I do. Most arenât vocal about it sadly.
I hate to agree, but my god! You MUST play the builds that Blizzard specifically designed or youâre SOL, because there are a few aspect/unique interactions that flat out donât work or simply broken features. Just going off of Barb alone, you had the Limitless aspect being ya know, actually limitless and gain an unlimited amount of damage, which I guess the devs didnât foresee, so they disabled that aspect along with all weapons that had that aspect on it for a few days (fun, right?), and then capped it. Just to name a few more things: The Third Blade paired with Bane of Ahjad-Den doesnât work, the Crusher legendary glyph doesnât work for 2-handed maces, and people exploited mythic seals early on in the season because they werenât working correctly. lol
