Incinerate enchant does not benefit from enchantment master

“Enchantments are 30% stronger”, incinerate enchant gives you a serpent head that appears every 8 seconds to cast incinerate and lasts 8 seconds. With enchantment master it now pops up every 6 seconds and lasts 8 seconds.

The issue is that a head every 6 for 8 should lead to overlapping heads. While this rate would obviously be busted (it would ramp up to infinite heads), it currently results in only 1 head every 8 seconds because i guess it is hard coded to spawn only one, so the enchantment buff is effectively pointless.

Make the enchantment specify no more than 2 heads to make enchanment master + incinerate not pointless?

Reminder that “30% stronger” means decreased times or lucky hit in relation to enchants with no specified damage.

I did not test this recently, so everything I’m about to say is from season 7.

  • The Serpent will, most of the time, spawn at the edge of the fight which results in it targeting nothing after it kills or the enemy walks away.
  • The Serpent sometimes turn to new enemies, most times it doesn’t.
  • The Serpent benefit from every buff that Incinerate does, but it cannot trigger the buffs itself. So you need to be casting Incinerate yourself to keep things like Overheating or Conflagration active.
  • The Serpent will “relocate” every 6 seconds when you have Enchantment Master, but the hit box from the flames will stay still for the 8 seconds resulting in a possible “double damage” for those 2 seconds of overlap, if the Serpent targets the same spot.
  • Ironically, the damage from the Serpent and the damage from your Incinerate does NOT stack, so attacking the same target is useless.

My conclusion, after many tests, was that the Incinerate Enchantment is useless because of its bad behavior/AI (spends most of the time attacking nothing).
The only time that the Serpent stays on the target is on boss fights, but because the damage doesn’t stack with your own Incinerate that is pointless.
Do not use this Enchantment, with or without Enchantment Master.

How would this happen?

Nvm, the math in my head wasnt mathing once i actually drew a diagram for myself. I will correct that in the OP. Either way, should be buffed to let two heads be present if gonna keep the 6 and 8 seconds

I believe that the entire Enchantment system needs a rework.
But, yeah, Incinerate Enchantment should allow for 2 Serpents the way it is now.

In the PTR I used Firewall and Fire Bolt as enchantment.
Easy 50% x extra damage to burning enemies.

So, I took my Incinerate Sorc for a spin again and tested the Enchantment. (Eternal Realm)

I do not know when this happened, but it seems that these 2 damage bugs I mentioned got fixed.
Managed to get 16.5B on the dummies with the help of the Serpent (around 9~10 without it).
It looks good and very promising.
I will test more and use it to push some Pit tiers. Let’s see how well it will do there.
