In S9 Druid is a big letdown and the new unique is usless

Druid is horrible and weak in S9 PTR… what were you guys thinking Cata is still the best build all others are worthless with OP nerfs… Also what is that new unique Hammer its so bad … and the 10sec cd on the poison puddles make it even worst … that hammer needs a rework does nothing to PULV! DRUID NEEDS BUFFS for S9 because compared to other classes hes just nowhere! THx

Well. Cata still being the top build after 80% OP nerf, says a lot about state of the game.

Nerfs to cataclysm are in the pipeline. Specifically lightning bolt damage and the unique ring. In addition to overpower nerfs the build will die.

I think they should consider removing the “Cataclysm receives your lightning bolt benefits” from Mjolnic.

If not addressed then lightning bolt will never be a good stand alone damagesource. By cutting the link lightning bolt and Cataclysm can be tuned independant.

Having a multiplied and maxed out lightning bolt pumping another skill is a balance nightmare.
Lightning bolt is a rune also, so its a nice versatile damage source. But if it doesn’t do damage nobody will use it.

Cata build is still top on the ptr at cap around 95. with shred and dolmen being 90-91.

There is a theory crafted fleshrender build going around but I think in reality it won’t work on bosses and will be scuffed at 80.

The Fleshrender build kills T4 Belial in 2 seconds (in S9) and has cleared T103 in the PTR (S9).

It has also cleared T100 in S8 - it took it 5 minutes; so with that same gear it should be able to clear T105 presumably. There is little reason to believe it will drop down by 20-25 pit tiers out of nowhere next season.

Unless we just assume Blizzard with straight out murder it for a second time.

EDIT: It just cleared T105 in 11 minutes.

yes,it works great in season 8

here is pit 106 (12min) pruf https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mALK5TyAOqs

That was incredibly boring to watch. If this is what a good build is, I don’t want to play it.

Are there builds that are fun to watch on a high Pit clear?

Because I am not aware of any.

Impressive!
Both runes are up almost all the time, constant overpowers, huge healthpool, almost 5k willpower and zero cooldown.

Looks like a well thought out build.
Nice to see Fleshrender being used.

I wrote out a few reasons why I thought It wouldn’t survive but I’m tired, here’s the tldr.

TLDR: druid good? Devs will Nerf. That’s unintended.

Well, it’s 50/50 on that one.

They can TRY to nerf it, but history shows that they rarely know how/what to nerf.

I actually suspect them to rework Nature’s fury and completely miss. In doing so nerf petrify builds and limit proc rate but increase damage.

I also think they will remove xan and qax to rework them due to abuse and over use.

I think the druid dev just really likes basic/spender style and it’s why it’s been so difficult to transition druid into spender builds and why our core cost so much still. Why we have to jump through so many hoops.

This mentality is why I think the Nature’s fury rework is gonna miss the mark. I think the whole idea devs have is to do stormstrike/ pulv or LS and vice versa with maul/ lightnstorm etc.

The issue is the build theme or idea does not function in endgame because it is inefficient. But every patch is furthering the druid towards this builder/spender style and I think that’s the end goal for earth/storm skills.

Ask yourself why it’s fairly easy to incorporate wild heart and BR in every build? Its this dual mentality and how to solve it is basic, spender. Why was impending delugde other skills?

Every question of Why is this designed like that on the druid is becuase they exist in a design philosophy that died in s2.

They have let perma petrify exist but killed lacerate and cata. This patch they are focusing on GR so I believe petrify will be killed.

Additionally, they are backtracking on builds that revolve around a single scaling item or extremely powerful item, so petrify won’t survive. Neither with bulwalk NF.

This is another reason.
