I tried to do an in-game VC with a PC player, but strangely enough, when playing on PS5, the microphone was off all the time and I couldn’t talk. That PC player also had its microphone disconnected immediately. I need this when I crossplay, so please fix it.
Odd… we on xbox played with a PC friend and had no issues with voice chat other then having to enable it.
Could Sony be blocking it?
I didnt get a chance to play with my friend for server slam but we did for the last beta.
He plays xbox and i on playstation. I know it worked great then.
Voice chat worked great during the SS Beta.
We tested with PC, PS4, and PS5.
On PC, I had to ensure my audio settings were correct.
And change from push-to-talk to voice activation.
The only major issue is that we had to use clan chat for voice… we had too many players for just one party. Also if a player dropped or changed parties, they’d have to change that setting from disabled to clan chat again. Minor annoyance. (Go to social/party, press R3. Then change voice to party/clan option.)
Overall it works great.
Yeah, thanks for all the replies guys! I was so disappointed so glad to hear your success stories!
Why didn’t I get it to work, do I need to fix anything in my PS5 setup, since the in-game chat worked so well with the UBI game, I’ve left my PS5 setup as is.
I may ask you guys here again when the production version is released. Thank you in advance then. Hopefully there will be an official explanation when it is released.
On PS5 you may have to check your audio settings for PS party chat.
Some games do not allow both party chat and game chat at the same time.
(Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for example.)
This means you would need to leave the party chat to use game chat.
Just something to consider.
