Improve tempering or just remove it

What the title says. So tried of doing tempering having like 6-8 tries of 4 or 3 options and getting the same one or the other I don’t need those 6-8 times. Then you use the scroll which you can ONLY use ONCE and get about the same result. When you do get it, it’s a low roll.

How many seasons have we been telling them to change how temper works? Maybe allow us to use the scroll more then once.

My vote is to remove it.

All it’s done for me is make me stop looking for upgrades. I get something semi-decent and call it done. Just vendor everything after that. That’s the last thing you want in an item find game.

I vote for determined outcomes, but outside of that, remove the whole thing.

Id say remove it and go back to loot 1.0 where items dropped with all affixes instead of incomplete “base” items.

Lets see what loot 3.0 looks like in 6-7 months.

Transfer “attempts left” to Manual and make them individual drop

Game will be much more interesting and they’ll have their hands “unleashed” to experiment with the feature more (and items won’t brick anymore but manuals will just get expired/used and people will hunt for more)

The bigger problem with itemization lies somewhere else (mandatory Temper * MW on all non-Unique items)

But as far as Tempering is concerned just fix

Doubt this would ever happen if we’re being honest. If they did this though they would have to up drop rates and finally implement a loot filter. Otherwise the same complaints from loot 1.0 would just repeat themselves all over again.

I think this game desperately needs someone to go through the affixes & nuke the bloat. I don’t want things “simplified” so much as I want them “streamlined.”

I know I’m exaggerating here, but … I like affixes that give (for example) +X levels to +Y skill. I do not like affixes that are “if your Fireball hits more than 3 targets there is a 10% chance it will apply 3% Vulnerable to Fire, which lasts 3 seconds.” I loathe almost every iteration of “Lucky Hit” I’ve ever seen. I personally (others might disagree, fine) couldn’t care less about “gain +X movement after killing an elite.”

I think streamlining itemization will go a ways towards improving drop rates, because we would not have so much dog’s breakfast cluttering the fields & dungeons.

Id rather a loot filter with interesting loot as apposed to this D3 itemization

Guys, when will you realize that tempering and masterworking were created by the D3 Ros/WoW developers (i.e., the core team behind D4) just to artificially stretch the average playtime in the season? That’s literally the only purpose. There’s no grand design or innovation behind it. They simply don’t know any other way to keep you hooked.

It’s a shame no one told them that there’s no monthly subscription here. All their efforts to stretch the game out are completely wasted from a financial perspective.

Key words there are ‘interesting loot’, which 1.0 did not have at all.

No i do agree. Itemization was always an issue but loot 1.0 was far more interesting then loot 2.0 sadly
