Why is it so confusing to transfer stats from 1 item/weapon over to the other for rare gear i ended up putting the wrong stats on a different item and each time i backed out it would still use all my gold until i realized my 80k gold was gone because i would exit and double check. This whole system with aspect ,imprint,and extraction needs to have a thoroughly explained tutorial or index that shows exactly what does what. Im bew to these types of games and have no clue what im doing i do wanna play this game on release but i do hope theres lots of thoroughly explained information on what everything does in the game. I turn to youtube videos but even then alot of the videos don’t have what im looking for. 2 months until launch im sure theres enough time for an index or some sort of crafting tutorials that could explain everything. Im still learning since its my first fiablo game i do enjoy it and i am looking forward for release in june. Thank you!

You cant transfer stat affixes between weapons, only reroll them for that item.
Legendary (orange) affixes, called imprints in D4, can be removed and placed on a different item. It doesnt even have to be the same type of item. Remove from gloves and place on sword, etc. Some imprint recieve a bonus if you place it on a certain type of gear (usually two hand weapons or amulets get a bonus, from what ive seen).
It costs more to remove an imprint than to place one, and once you place an extracted imprint on a new item, you cant remove it from that item again. You can earn reuseable imprints from completing certain dungeons. On your map there will be a little yellow treasure chest by the dungeon door and moving the cursor over it will tell you what imprint it grants and for what class. More will be available at release than whats in the beta.
Both rerolling stats and adding/removing imprints are done in the same window, but on different tabs. It also warns you when rerolling stats that even if you choose not to change the stat, your resources will still be taken. Sounds like you got trigger happy and blew through the warning or something. Heck, i was aware of it and still did it… once.
Good rule of thumb, Read more than you click.
Stats get re-rolled on the item you put in the box for that item. You get a choice from 3 randomly chosen stats. Removing an imprint destroys the legendary you remove it from, and puts the imprint in the last tab of your character inventory.
Its pretty straight-forward if you read what youre doing and dont click blindly, repeatedly.
Oh, and with rerolling stats, the price goes up each time it seems. 1st around 3k, 2nd around 10k etc.

Edit: imprints and aspects basically same thing, extract the Aspect from your legendary, imprint it on a new piece of gear. Ive just been calling both imprints in my head. It’s easier on my recollection.
