That is pretty much it.
I enjoy the game and I would very much like to play and explore different builds, but the cost of completely changing the whole paragon board (not to mention the time) is exhausting.
We need to be able to save our current skills and paragon board and switch between the saves without having to spend gold or time doing it.
I love the paragon boards but I have nightmares thinking of unclicking 225 times and then clicking again 225 times on the new nodes to test a build that might or might not work, which would lead to unclicking 225 times again and clicking 225 times again it.
Now, I am not saying that you should literally copy - paste functionalities between different IPs of the same company, but look at World of Warcraft. In 2009 they’ve implemented what they called “dual spec” which would allow players to switch between 2 different specializations of talents in their characters. This functionality evolved over the years and today you can import/export the builds using a text line, which can easily be implemented by all the fan sites for Diablo 4 so we can plan those builds there and simply import them in-game.
With the current system that takes 450 clicks or more to change a build (e.g. move from a Whirlwind barbarian to HoTA) and also the cost involved (39317 golds per paragon board node you unclick). Testing a new build and coming back to your previous takes over 17,6 million golds.
Our gold sink is already the enchant to try to get either a higher roll on a 4/4 item or a BiS stat on a 3/4 item, there is no need to make the paragon board another gold sink either.
TL;DR:
Remove the gold cost for the paragon boards (not a good gold sink here, discourage exploring and testing new things)
Make it easier to reset the paragon boards so we can easily test new builds without having to do 450 clicks or so to do it (again, spending too much time clicking on those to setup our character is unsatisfying.
Implement a way to save the current skills / paragon board in the existing wardrobe (so there is no need to implement much a new interface for it) as a function to “change builds” allowing us to store also the skills + paragon board altogether so we can easily swap whenever we want between builds. This is a huge quality of life that is currently missing and the concepts for it exists within other IPs of Blizzard.
that is a band-aid patching.
We need a long term solution. We can’t get into season 10 without having a way to save up our builds. This is not diablo 3 where you could with a few clicks rebuild your character.
17 million gold every time you need to change a build is not about farming it is a lot of time consuming which again discourage players for trying new builds.
I’m sorry if 90% of the players are not like you that have no life and live under a basement that can spend 16 hours / day playing to do it. And I ain’t even asking to make it more casually.
Again, if you are unable to understand the very problem that the paragon boards introduce that is a very complex way to customize your character (which is good) turns out to be undoing it. Having a way to install presets of different builds allow players to find different ways to play and have fun. Some people might like build A for nm dungeons whilst for PvP will use a different one.
A dungeon focused on elites vs a dungeon which you just need to find items and then kill the boss.
Again all of those are currently not possible without spending a whole a LOT of time undoing them. Adding a scroll is not helpful, it is worse.
If you can’t understand that a game in 2023 can have those conveniences, I’m sorry for you, must hurt not having life.
Where do you get your numbers?
90%?
Haha.
90% casual on these forums you mean. Never played die-hard Diablo 2 or POE for that matter.
If you dislike ARPGS, and do not understand how this works, stop playing.
Instead of wanting to make all things easy, again this aint WoW.
Jesus. I just noticed that you, Sinned, is just a forum troll. All your posts are about:
I stand corrected. You don’t spend 16 hours a day playing. You spend a few on the forums trolling and showing that you’re unable to engage in a conversation or even discuss the topic.
I’m glad I found out about you and I’m not gonna miss any of your crap posts again. See you never again, ignored forever.
Yet, I have 2 chars on level 100. And don’t cry bout farming and crappy things like you casuals. Hence all those ppl can walk out of the door and goodbye. Ppl like you only repeat stuff, want things fast, casual meh you all are.
Good that you ignore me btw, I will keep pointing out your nonsense, no worries
