Immune to Damage Type Enemies

Did anyone run into these in any of the play throughs? Or hear from the devs if theure doing this?

I remember finding D2 hell mode annoying when ypu specialized in one element.

They are not present in D4 thankfully, the game isnt built around immunes.

Oh thank goodness. I rolled a bliz-sorc in d2 and had to skip whole areas just because of cold immune enemies. Not fun!

I do get cold resist, but 0 damage felt lame.

Also why the necromancer doesnt have the amplify damage or lower resists curses.

At certain world tiers enemys with dmg type resistence auras will be a thing starting from WT3 iirc. Resistence isn’t immunity but then again 99% resistence is still called resistence so we don’t know yet how this plays out.
Then again there are classes who only do one kind of dmg so I’m almost certain it’s not more then 50% resis we face.

Rogues does physical and poison mainly, Barbs is mainly physical and bleeding.

So noone is pure single damage type.

Last time I checked Bleed had a physical dmg tag. No idea if bleed is it’s own dmg element. Then again Barbs get fire dmg from legys and uniques but still… depending on your build you might end up in a bad place ^^.

pretty sure it said on the world tier page that higher tiers would have enemies with immunity… or at least resistences…

Resistances is not immunity.

World Tier 1 – Adventurer

This is the easiest tier in the game where players, as already mentioned, don’t need to worry too much about enemies. While in this tier drops are not as regular or higher tier as in other difficulties, Adventurer mode is the best option if you want to just enjoy the story.

World Tier 2 – Veteran

The second difficulty available for players right at the beginning of the game is the Veteran mode. In this one, enemies are stronger, but you can also get more drops. This is a good call if you want to reach level 50 faster!

World Tier 3 – Nightmare

Unlocked after you get to level 50 and complete the campaign, this is the first step you take in your journey to Diablo 4’s endgame. The Nightmare Dungeons are also only accessible to players that got to the Nightmare mode. In general, you receive more experience in this mode, but your character is less resistant to damage.

World Tier 4

This is one of the harder World Tiers, unlocked after reaching level 70. This difficulty has more fearsome enemies, 200% increased experience, and monsters have 40% resistance. Monsters also drop 15% more Gold and it is unlocked by completing the Fallen Temple Capstone Dungeon in the Dry Steps.

World Tier 5

Information about World Tier 5 is not known yet.

no but depending on how resistent they are and to how meny dmg types it might leave some classes at a big disadvantage…

It did not.

This is more or less correct. It will function like minions that are highly resistant to an element until the elite is downed, then they will lose the 99% immunity and explode as normal.

Basically, you will have to kill the elite first by design.

yes it did… icewolf posted the list of world tiers and in tier 3 we start to see monsters with resistances…

I restate, it did not. Read my post just above. Read it out loud if you have too. Try moving your lips. I don’t know what to tell you.

There is NO immunity in this game. Period. NO monsters have innate resistances. What there IS is a resistance aura on an elite that is applied to nearby minions. The aura is removed from the “minions” when the elite dies. These are discrete concepts.

Immunity is different from resistances is different from an aura from an elite.

Honesty, this forum.

I always liked immune mobs because it forced a solo player to be more than a one trick pony. You couldn’t just throw every point into synergies for blizzard or orb and trash the whole map. Also it forced you to devote more points into the backup skill for it to be effective. (level 1 fireball doesn’t do much in hell mode.)

That being said I won’t miss them tbh, but I did like considering facing them with every build and how I planned to attack them.

Amplify damage was built into a passive that applied to an enemy that has an active curse on them such as decrepify or iron maiden. Not sure why they only pulled out 2 curses to be used.

No you just farmed areas that didn’t have any mobs that would resist your damage. Ancient Tunnels as a Blizz sorc for example.

Hopefully there won’t ever be immunes. This mechanic is getting old in ARPG’s.

The name of the passive is just a nod to the curse of old. Far from the same relative strenght of amplify damage in D2.

I think Darkness builds would have loved a nasty dot curse to tick on enemies with their other effects. They are after all fairly short on Darkness skills.

Sadly yeah its just a nod to the curse back then. Agreed it is heavily downplayed in D4, but also yeah i was kind of hoping for a Dot Tick Curse necro

It’s not as bad as it once was. In D2R you can find these new items called sunder charms which reduce enemies resist. So you can now play with what builds you want in that game. However you still need to get them to drop.
