So, Sorcerers can maintain a permanent flame shield through Flame Shield duration tempering and the Hectic aspect.
Barbarians can increase their ranks in Martial Vigor, achieving over 100% damage reduction against elites.
Rogues can attain 100% dodge chance by tempering dodge chance and stacking Dexterity.
Esteemed developers, these mechanics should not exist.
While I understand that PvP may not be your primary focus, a significant number of players enjoy this content. Unfortunately, it has been reduced to a contest of “who is more immortal?”
Sure, nerfing things mid-season would be unfair to those who have invested heavily in their builds. Well, let these players remain immortal in the Pit and other areas, but not in the Fields of Hatred, where people come to compete with each other.
You have already hardcapped critical damage, vulnerable damage, and overpower damage in PvP zones. Why not extend this approach to hardcap damage reduction, invulnerability duration, and dodge chance at reasonable values?

how about no? creating separate pvp rules/handicaps just makes pvp even more strange experience for players trying to play it, and experienced plyers continue to exploit stuff which is not capped.
instead of creating distance between PvE and PvP due to different rules/caps, they should actually make it intuitively same. otherwise it will be two separate games requiring separate gear, paragon, build - too much for regular player to spend time for no reason and still being destroyed due to class imbalances.
IMO they should keep it even less restricted for mode to be not niche part of the game.
Name a PvP game where permanent immortality is a common thing?

tbf, this isn’t a pvp game.
It has PvP, but pvp game it is not.

Not only that, but the developers have stated they won’t be changing how PVP works. It’s not meant to be fair and they’ve yet to change anything about it since launch. Oh sure they may fix some bugs for each class, which in turn will affect pvp. However it’s more or less collateral damage, then them actually looking at PVP and changing it.
it’s not a pvp game.
pvp in D4 for majority player base exists because of whisper tree tasks giving quite a lot points for quick effort hence it’s worthwhile to jump on that chaos once in a while. aand if you have PvE character, but with infinite or half infinite immortality, it feels actually good in that context? jump in, survive X seconds, get rewards. maybe mess around little longer for that infinite 1vs1 duels. it feels… ok?
without that what sorc will do against pvp specced barbs or rogues? get instakilled without farming full set of pvp gear? nobody will farm that. so you are basically promoting gankers paradize.
as it is right now everyone can run away from immortal sorc so frankly it feels fun for the short ground runs. and personally even having immortal sorc, I got killed like 3 times today by sneaking rogue because infinite shield only works when spamming basic attack, and naturally you don’t spam it when nobody is near. also you cannot freely move when doing that so neither rogue or barb have a problem running away and switching to someone else.
I stand corrected, D4 is not a PvP game. PvP is just an afterthough. Sure.
However, it doesn’t change the fact that any player vs. player interactions must have at least a semblance of balance, don’t you agree?
But oh well, the game is balanced around folks who come to FoH only to complete whispers. So it is what it is.
Which is why it will never be a good game, sadly.
Do not bother…game is broken in many each corner.
Simply play it and wait like me for PoE2…they will never repair D4 in correct way.

Why bother with pvp? Dot damage been op in pvp since day 1 never been fixed. Have 99 percent DR to elites and still die in 2 secs to a bleed or a firewall.

As much as I LOVE the Hectic aspect it’s always going to cause problems lol. Before the rework and it’s nerf I had a 98%-100% uptime on Army of the Dead/Corpse Tendril/Blood Mist.
It should have never been ported over, you can’t balance it. It either breaks stuff or it sucks so much nobody runs it.

It should probably reduce cooldown based on %, with a high cap of 2 seconds max. This way it avoids very short CD skills to be abused like Flame Shield and still offer a support.
I’m not a pvp player at all. I was ganked by 2 people while I was mucking about in the zone (I wasn’t bloodmarked so I couldn’t fight back). 2 people couldn’t kill me, and I had a terrible rogue build (that is otherwise squishy). I think it’s less immortal builds, as much as it’s Diablo pvpers are kinda bad.
Also, this kinda reminds me of ESO when I played it. It’s not worth the time or effort to bother doing anything with pvp in this game. Whenever I’m in the zone, at most I will see one other person, otherwise it’s completely empty. If even 1% of the D4 population does pvp, I’d be surprised.
balance have tonns of different aspects though… in some PvP games 1vs1 balance is not even considered to be a problem to solve, game could have paper-rock-scissors type of class balance and focus on team play. isn’t moba games focus on that?
some would have imbalanced races/classes (starcraft 1) but achieve balance via map pool, meaning on specific maps some classes are way stronger.
at the end, to make game PvP balanced, Blizzard need to choose model. is it 1vs1 duels balanced, or hate grounds “points per second” balanced, or it should be 4vs4 team play balanced? it seems you are asking for 1vs1 duel balanced ARPG but I don’t think this happenned even once in gaming history. I remember stories of immortal paladins from D2 hardcore PvP times though I was not playing that.
I agree immortal builds are stupid and hope they will nerf it, but this quote tell us, you are totaly clueless
It doesn´t work like they can switch one button to something work in pit and not in pvp zone
Pvp was one of the best things about ESO (the other best being trials) as long as the servers held out, but they never really did hold out so in a way i agree with you lol
Immortal shield should be delete from game. But then all sorc builds will be absolutely not playable. They should delete Immortal thing and give something back (much more dmg and much more defense as compensate)

As you may know, crit damage, vulnerable damage and overpower damage are capped in PvP.
Certain passives (e.g. Weapon Mastery for rogues) straight up don’t work in PvP (albeit, it’s not stated anywhere, but concluded from tests).
Therefore, it’s highly doubtful that Blizzard devs are not able do limit certain values at certain zones.

Well anything is possible. But it is not ez fix it would take much more time and effort than changing this broken mechanics everywhere.
No point in the pvp zone right now class balance is the messiest toilet it’s ever been. Putrid slop and rancid crud everywhere.
