Same thing with the Obol vendor, everything that person gives is level 11-13. I don’t have a single piece over 14. Does the gear level increase with campaign progression and I’m just doing too much side stuff?
I’ve noticed this too. Gear drops are mostly 10+ levels below my current level. No idea why, though.
Are y’all paying attention to the Item Power number and using the SHIFT key to compare it to current gear? I’ve had level 40 gear be better than 44.
Level requirements on gear are not important, they just keep you from putting them on. You need to look at the actual affixes and the item power.
level req means nothing. Item Power is what matters.
It’s simply another level of rng on top of the already heavily laden affix rng. It will stay within a range of your level but most drops are below your actual level.
Thanks everyone, just was wondering if something I was doing incorrectly was holding it back.
same issue with gear dropping that is totally useless and underpowered
Because hiding deep within the core of Diablo 4 scaling is only superficial meant to push you in to grinding higher tiers although you can grind to 100 above ground without setting a foot in to nightmare+ dungeons.
I highly recommend everybody also turn on the Gameplay Options of → Advanced Tooltip Compare // Advanced Tooltip Information.
Is it not on by default? I don’t know if I enabled it or not. It’s 100% useful.
Level required doesn’t equal the level of the gear. Because of helltides, the level requirement for items is several levels lower than the actual item.
Item Power only means something if you haven’t replaced a piece for like 20 or 25 levels. You are looking for the specific stats on the item. It isn’t something where you can just look at one number and make a decision.
I have full legendary gear well proc’d with my current built since lvl 30, I am lvl 50 now and still using these items
When you get into tier 3 things start dropping for your level if it is sacred.
