Im going to be { 100% HONEST } i'm getting a clue WTF is going on with this new mechanic

EDIT, the help ive gotten from a few ppl in this thread has nade all the difference in the world !!!

If Blizzard has a guide as an average player i mustve missed it. so if i missed it i hope others dont also and get as frustrated as i did.

Ive started the new season, Ive unlocked the 1st pact, its on the screen with 5 spaces.

I have corrupted blood, I have pieces of armor that accept those things.

Ive watched videos on YT of the new mechanic.

I have NO IDEA what im supposed to do or where im supposed to go or what to kill. The green hell tides i see on the screen, but am lost as to what to do besides mindlessly killing everything.

Am i alone here ? Is this fun ?
Is it intresting or intruiging ?

I really dont even see a reason to sign on and just spin in circles in town.

Can anyone offer constructive helpful explanations or links to video that possibly explain it better than the vids ive already watched ?

Please save the judgemental snarky attacking personal comments as your likely already muted.

Should i just kill anything that moves ?

Follow the season quest.
Kill monsters in green areas for the blood resource to unlock pacts. (new powers)
Finish the seasonal chapter requirements to get to the next part of the story.
Lvl.
Mindlessly kill everything, even though there is a story chances are you are supposed to kill something if not everything.

I usually try to unlock my codex stuff early on when there is no NMD.

Yes.

The vampire powers are fun.
But it’s annoying when looking at upgrading your gear and having to balance the aspects each piece has so your powers still work.

You really don’t have to but you should at least upgrade till it costs veiled crystals, early game you don’t have too many. But once you have some, and if you are like me and like to try things on a new class, then go for it.

I have all but 2 legendaries at lvl 38, but I forgot how scarce these materials are.
I also use codex stuff for early item imprints, why I go get them first.

*Key thing to remember is salvage anything you upgrade later so you get some materials back.

*also save your good or perfect rolled legendary aspects for when your gear is less likely to change.

Thank you again for your patience and help.

The more i play the more im slowly figuring out. Which is what i should have done b4 posting this but i was feeling so overwhelmed and lot i was basically venting out of confusion.

now im looking up how to get seeker keys, ALOT of how to get extra powers and what those little pacts actually do and how/when to use them is next oin the list to figure out.

Thanks again.

Vamp powers are fun while leveling so far. The HP ones make anybody feel so tanky. Some of the damage ones feel a bit lackluster but still entertaining.

But to answer original question…

Kill vampires in green zones (or quest-specific dungeons) and get blood drops. They can also drop from some blood-filled fountains.

Once you have enough, goto your inventory and goto the vampire tab. its left of primary inventory. Unlock a new power by clicking on the button on the bottom. It will give you a random choice of 3 powers available to you. You can either unlock a new power or upgrade an existing one. Repeat until out of blood. Vampire skills max out at level 3. And every upgrade costs 25 blood. Also note, the powers tell you where to unlock them as a handful of them don’t unlock unless you do season storyline.

Every power has a pact requirement with it. While mindlessly killing you should get pacts and acid, or new upgraded gear to customize what pacts you have. use acid to remove all pacts and put your own on, or add to existing gear. Pacts only appear on armor pieces, and vary from 3-5 depending on which piece of gear.

Frankly OP, Blizzard needs to provide you a complete idiot guide 1 week before S2 begins so that you can ignore the exploration part of them game, the story line and just start complaining in forum.

You are welcome.
I try to be helpful when people have genuine questions. If you have any more just ask, there are others here too that are helpful and like discussing the game and builds.

I make a lot of silly posts too, ignore those or join in. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry I did not explain the interface of the vamp skills, because it is new to me also, I could be doing it wrong. But my approach with that is I am just going to unlock all the skills first. Then worry about leveling them.

Right now because my gear is volatile, I just slot in any power that fits. I will worry about catering to the pacts later on, unless I really like a power then I will look to get gear with its requirements.

So pretty much try everything out then level the ones I think I can’t live without.

*Will also add, favor affixes on gear to pacts, because it looks like you can add and remove pacts when you have the gear you will keep.

Are you trying to be helpful or witty ?

The name calling, really ? isnt that something jr high children do ?

I even mention people like you in my OP and yet you still felt the need…

goodbye

Also there are free rewards from the Hunter’s Acclaim board in some towns. Looks like a billboard with a green leaf. Check that as you progress and you can get your rewards.

That is still out of my paygrade  but thanks for all your help

Yeah i checked that board the seeker keys i read about but havent done it yet so thats next on the list tomorrow.

Check with the town alchemist too for acid crafting. You can craft acids that remove only certain pacts rather than wiping them all clean.

Until you hit 50 you want to minimize upgrading anything as you will need gold and materials later on. You do not want to make major upgrades until you hit 70. There might be 1 or 2 affixes that are must have early on, and if you hit a point where you are struggling there might be some gear to upgrade early, but in general “save for later”.

So far I am still collecting and upgrading vampire powers but over half-way to 50 I have not had to modify any gear at all to use 5 powers.
