Earthstriker’s aspect still triggers on basic attacks despite what patch note says
Crusher glyph, weapon swapping and bash will not work together because of 2h mace requirements - either change bash or crusher weapon requirement
Bonebreaker and vampiric power should not trigger on basic attacks - I should be playing the game not the buff bar
I main barb so I don’t know how it is for druids and necros

Its complicated because then basic attacks build wont be able to overpower. But if basic attack builds are able to overpower, then sometimes core skill builds will waste their overpower on basic attacks.
I didnt make a basic attack build so i suffer from the second problem, but i do want to make a basic attack build, and if the second problem is solved then i will suffer from the first problem.
Maybe they need to add more variety/glyphs.
Also which patch notes says that earthstriker shouldnt be wasted on basic attacks? Just looked up patch 1.2 and theres 4 earthstriker mentions, and none says anything about basic attacks.
For the Earthstriker notes, the class Barbarian section will have to be expanded before the Find will find the Earthstriker change in question.
Here is how you fix the “Next Attack will Overpower”.
- Your attacks will Overpower for the next 2 seconds.
If lets say you gain Overpower from Earthstriker and either do not see you gained the buff or are in the middle of a rotation and land a Basic Attack, then Steel Grasp, both will Overpower and you have a very short time to use it on the Skill you WANT to Overpower (more than likely a Core Skill). There is a high likelihood however what will happen is you see the Overpower numbers pop up (from Skills that basically waste the proc) then frantically hit your Core Skill.
This also buffs Basic Skills and builds that spam Skills as you would benefit from Overpower proccing consecutively within the short window.
Yeah…
Whoever thought of and went ham with the “your next attack” obsession in this game needs to be publicly whipped.
It’s so stifling and limited. Very bland and idiotic design.

This would require rebalancing of overpower. In two seconds you can attack 4 times, doing almost 4 times as much damage then.
Getting your attack speed to .5 seconds on Skills that require Resources is hard. For Basic Attacks sure, but if it wasn’t for Moonrise and S2 Blood Powers, Basic Skills would not be viable Primary damage anyway so Overpower would help. More than likely, you won’t have 4 Core Attacks with Max benefit for each cosecutive Overpowers.
Quick rule to that would be that you cannot Overpower more than 1 time every 2 seconds with any one Skill if that was an issue. Even if you could spam Upheaval 4 times in 2 seconds, only the 1st hit would Overpower in that case.
Point being there can easily be viable alternatives to the poor design we have currently.
OP does feel all over the place.
I have 3 sources that triggers overpower which i dont bother to keep track off or at least try not to as it is a bit annoying having to eyeball indicators on the skill bar during a chaotic situation.
I just treat and think about it like crit. I’ll randomly get a massive blue number. Sometimes it’s where I want it like Power Kick, sometimes it’s not, like Lunging Strike.
Yes but treating it this way makes it really bad. You can always benefit from the 1.2x Vulnerability modifier on every hit. You can get your Crit Chance up high enough so you always benefit from the 1.5x Crit Damage modifier. Overpower has the same 1.5x modifier (but with huge additive damage bonuses).
In order for Overpower to be worth the investment, you have to guarantee it. Earthstriker is a wasted Aspect and you would be better off with say a 20-50% Damage Aspect in its place if you only Overpower once every 30 seconds or so on your Primary Damage Skill.
Yea you’re right. I’m not really pushing the performance or worried. I am having fun with the rare 300K kicks tho.
I just tested Crusher glyph and brute force skill from barbarian and it doesn’t seem to increase the total overpower damage.
For example, the total amount of overpower damage is 500%. When I swap weapon and use hota which is 2 handed mace, the overpower damage is still 500%.
Is this intended to be or a display bug. If that so Crusher glyph and Brute force are completely useless for overpower build
Go test it on a Training Dummy for a while. Take off the Glyph and unspec Brute Force.
See what your Overpower numbers are.
Put in the Glyph only and see what your Overpower numbers are.
Take off Glyph and spec into Brute Force and see what your Overpower numbers are.
Add Glyph and see what your Overpower numbers are with Brute Force.
When you say you swap weapons and use HoTA, what do you mean exactly? Your HoTA Overpowers are the same regardless of Crusher or Brute Force?
I would add there could be an interaction with the Additive Sources dropping somehow for your actual Overpowers since they scale off Fortify and Max Health. Are you using Violent HoTA?
Yes. In the character stat sheet, my overpower damage in % doesn’t increase when I weapon swap to Hota (2H Mace)
which are the requirement for crusher glyph (Need Mace)
and Brute Force (Need 2H Weapon) to work. Even though I have equipped both
And I just tested with the dummy. Crusher and Brute force with or without equipped. The number stay almost the same.
Currently my overpower is about 500%. If let say the crusher 30%
and brute force 45% (15% per rank) are working as what its text does. I expected my overpower in my stat sheet is more than 2000% but it is still stay as 500% with or without crusher and brute force.
It doesn’t matter what skill I am using. It is just that it must be 2 Handed Mace for Crusher and Brute Force to work
This might be a stupid question, but have you checked your character sheet outside of town where you can engage in combat? A lot of things do not properly show in town on your character sheet. The sheet is also notoriously inaccurate as it does not display conditionals properly. Your sheet is a “best guess” from the game only looking in certain spots to arrive at its math.
@carrotfeets , Yes I have tested everything and doesn’t increase. You can test it yourself if you have a barb character.
