Level 80, haven’t gotten to tempering/pits yet and it’s too boring to wait till then for the game to start being fun.
Still suishy as f*** even with max armor and resistances.
Still need at least 2 or 3 defensive skills on the bar in every build.
Still mana starved, even with multiple mana/sec rolls and 20%+ resource gain. It f***ing sucks to have to wait until you get Tibaults Will just to start playing your build properly.
Actually most of your builds are gated behind specific uniques, and every build is pretty gimped without Tal Rashas.
Single target damage is a joke.
Those are just off the top of my head for Sorc specifically.
Not sure if this is Sorc specific, but it still feels like 99% of the gear that drops is worthless to me.
Most fun I had was Season 2 Ball Lightning Sorc, and I didn’t even get it to the super OP point everyone else was at, because I never got Flickerstep to drop. I got an Oculus though, and with the Metamorphosis Evade thing, you could fly through content crazy fast, it was awesome.
It now makes sense that I’ve only seen a grand total of 5 other Sorcs this season, but no end of Necros, Barbs, and Rogues; hell, even seen more Druids than Sorcs.
So yeah, I’m really bored and even this Goblin event thing isn’t enough for me to want to keep going.
I’ll login for the free junk, but unless the mid-season patch gives us some help, I’m done for the season I think.
I respect that you have thoughts and are sharing them but I disagree with a lot of them. DO agree that comparative to a few other classes, we got the shaft.
Right off the bat, a bit confused. I don’t know what you’re doing with your build(s) but at level 80, you should be owning pretty much everything as a sorc.
At level 80, no. Later on, yeah: pretty much. If you’re super squishy at level 80 content though, you’re doing some things wrong.
There are MANY ways this season to solve mana issues. More ways than ever before. It seems like you’re just not using them.
Agree that a lot of online builds are still all about Tal’Rasha but this is silly. It’s no longer mandatory. Depending on tempers and affixes + legendary aspect, Tal’Rasha is not needed.
Uniques are generally weaker this season. I AM sick of so many builds thinking you can easily source a Harlequin/Shako Uber unique though. Uber bosses NEVER drop ubers for me. I had to max iron wolf renown on my 3 sorcs and and get one of my sorcs powerful enough to face Tormented Duriel so I could just craft my own shako.
Yeah, it’s pretty sad for sorcs. I thought today’s patch would make a difference here. The patch notes stated pit bosses would be tweaked to be more in line with the trash encounters before reaching them. I still get through the trash easy, did not notice a difference with the pit boss. My experience today was with pits tier 65-70.
Anyway: as I said; respect you sharing your thoughts. On the spectrum of HOW frustrating sorc currently is, I am just not QUITE as upset as you. Still upset though!
It’s funny how awful the Sorc is without hard cheesing perma flame shield.
My basic attack Rogue with a couple of specific rolls and no build defining aspects is tankier and dishes out more damage than my Sorc does lmao.
The Sorc has such fun playstyles but is such garbage to actually play.
Nobody wants glass cannons. With unavoidable attacks, Dot effects all over the floor, monster that can attack from off screen, explosions that can cover your entire screen in clusters and extremely high monster density, wed don’t need glass cannons.
Just make basic survivability a thing across the board. Why does my rogue tank literally anything in the game while my fully geared Sorc gets oneshot?? It’s so silly
Maybe it’s me but it feels best to use just 1 at the moment and that’s flame shield for most builds. Hectic and the lucky hit reset. Either way, not sure Sorc can survive without a defensive skill, Warmth does like no healing. Why is tenuous destruction so weak considering the opportunity cost so high. Should give way more damage than Tal Rasha but it doesn’t or rework to give damage per defensive not on the skill bar.
I appreciate your understanding.
In truth, that is part of why I itemized my list of complaints, vaguely hoping that if anything I said was just straight up wrong that someone would correct me.
I want to have fun with this game, it just feels like it’s fighting me.
I’m able to kill most things relatively easily now that I swapped over to Frozen Orb, and most of the time I’m tanky enough that I don’t get one-tapped, but every now and then, I do. Like, I’d just done a T41 NMD, and a random elite just one shot me, twice, and I couldn’t tell why.
I’m fine with always having Teleport on the bar, and honestly Flame Shield will probably never leave the bar just because an invulnerability button is too useful to give up. It’s mainly that I resent needing to also bring Ice Shield.
I think this is probably because casting a single Conjuration really isn’t that impressive if it isn’t a part of/being buffed by your build, and Mastery skills are basically just more expensive Core skills, that it also doesn’t make sense to bring since you’re usually juicing 1 Core or Mastery skill to be your singular source of damage.
idk
Maybe I’ll swap it for Blizzard and try to get that legendary that gives 30% Damage Reduction for being in/few seconds after touching a Blizzard. Or just swap to a Blizzard build.
I have 22 Mana/sec + Avalanche, maybe I need more lucky hit, maybe I need more damage. I just feel like I still have to cast more than I have mana to support.
I feel like that’s the only way I’ll be able to get one as well.
I have like, 60 Living Steel, I’ve done one Echo of Varshan and based on barely beating him, and how my builds have performed vs Helltide lady and World Bosses, I’ve not done any other bosses yet bc I’ve felt like my single target damage is still so bad.
This I fully agree with.
After I was able to get that super fast teleport spamming build in Season 2, I basically don’t want to play the other classes.
Melee still sucks, Rogue is the only other one I’d want to play but they’re also too frustratingly stop-and-start imo.
In D3 I’d play mainly Monk, sometimes Demon Hunter, and rarely Wizard.
Monk with In-Geom is an amazing experience D4 has yet to live up to imo.
Season 2 was the closest they got to it.
I was going to mention that as well but I couldn’t be bothered to look up the name of the legendary aspect, was planning to make it its own thread later.
It feels especially insulting, it’s a complete joke.
“Hey, here’s a huge juicy damage multiplier you will literally never be able to use.”
I’d rather get kicked in the balls while I chewed on glass before I even thought about removing Teleport from my bar.
It’s not even juicy, it’s weaker than Tal Tasha’s plus nowhere near the same as Shepherds on Druid. 80% on 2H vs 180% , both have insane opp costs (running 3 useless pets vs no defensives) but at least the Druid one is worth it currently, although I hate the state of Druid because of it.
