Copy/pasting is getting absolutely out of hand. So I had a good time on Marvel. Played with a friend or whatnot. Checked Reddit, found that someone did t100 with Okun’s Catalyst build. I’m like sweet! That’s likely my build or at least a heavy variation of. It turns out that it’s true, it is. 95% of the build that’s in there came from me.
For context, I published videos of the build development to both Reddit & here. Got heavy negative pushback on the 2nd video and lukewarm reception on the 3rd. I’m like okay. I had other IRL things to attend to, so I stopped development on it.
Turns out some members of the community continued to develop it & got it to t100 on seasonal. Of course I’m happy for them that the perfected the build. All up until I check the desc. and see that Mekuna & Roxy were credited while I was mysteriously absent from everything. And they were claiming that ideas came from them when it was originally mine. In as early as the 2nd video, I showed the IAS aspect & by the obducite farm video I had the masterwork on the Focus itself.
What was feelings of support, and being ecstatic for others accomplishment turned into disgust, anger, hostility, list goes on. It’s insane the levels people will go to to get their moment in the spotlight. I’m getting really sick and tired of it cause this rando wasn’t the 1st one. Only the next one in a series of people trying to become famous off of my work. The only thing I can do is stop publishing builds cause apparently I can’t give anything out without getting ripped off. I’d still be ripped off even if I was 1st to a t150 build. Someone would just claim it’s theirs any freakin way. I just can’t win so I’m going to play privately & not even publish anything.
Crazy part is that I do this for fun, I do this for you guys, I do it to entertain. Nothing negative on my part. They’re honest attempts to engage with everyone & help in some way shape or form. This is how I’m repaid. I’m done. I don’t have to deal with any of it. Those people are simply going to lose access to privileged information & I highly doubt they’d find it themselves since it took until me. So without me you wouldn’t have anything. I can still help out the devs too. That’s the funny part.
That’s cause there’s nothing you CAN say. Like I said, this ain’t the 1st time but I can tell you for sure it is the last time. I remember the 1st time it happened, I played a whole other class (which was Sorc S3) and Necro community + content creators didn’t have **** for **** until I threw em a bone. Then in S6 they still didn’t have **** until I did the t4 Minion video & presto change-o, we have minion builds to play with.
I credit mostly everything to the devs because I know they’re watching & I know they’re responding to what I’m doing, and it helps the game improve overall for the better, for everyone. So if anything good came out of it, I think it’s that. But otherwise, the community, not saying everybody & not saying you guys, are knee capping me so hard. I just cannot do it anymore. End of the line.
No build in this game is so original another cant figure out the same one… if you made a build you should have made the video. You cant watch a video and say its your build they stole it lol. You said yourself theres does 100 yours doesnt…
Being the critical thinker that I am, is there any possible way Mekuna and Roxy came to the same conclusion you did at a different time? I’m just asking is there hard proof that if these two were credited, that they took it from your work specifically? I’m not trying to discredit you, so please don’t take this the wrong way, but I wouldn’t be the person I am if I didn’t ask the harder hitting questions.
I don’t follow content creators enough to the point where I would make accusations against them copying some one’s work. I don’t know how much research they do in making their own builds, how much research you personally do, etc. Right now it’s just your word against theirs is all I’m getting from this story, and I would just like more details is all.
From my perspective, there’s people who love to get into the nitty gritty of build making, and explore various avenues of build making, things others wouldn’t expect. So it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility that multiple people would eventually come to the same conclusion for a build, with maybe some slight tweaks here or there, as you stated. I’m not saying they didn’t steal your work, I’m just saying I don’t know.
There is this crazy idea where if you don’t like something you don’t participate in it or around it. I know it takes a little growing up to realize this, but I assure you.
You’re misreading it. I’m not saying Mekuna or Roxy took anything. What I am saying is that the person who did the t100 video credited THEM for something when that particular idea (of using some of Mekuna’s LS boards) came from me.
I am on record saying that at the point where my build stalled in progress, I took a look at Mekuna’s LS build & swapped out the boards. I can even directly link to where I said this. The t100 video publisher likely took that idea from me but because I’m not ‘famous’, they chose to omit any mention of me. All so that they can get some attention from the ‘stars’.

The proof is in my videos and when/how they were published. I was the only person playing and developing that build. All the way up to t4 obd farm just to show what 2 mythics looked ilke. There’s an observable history of published posts on Reddit which even includes the developers buffing the skill after I had requested it. All this stuff didn’t happen out of nowhere, I assure you.
The closest observable person is Lurkin but we are not talking just slight tweaks here and there. By the time of the t4 obd farm video I blew the lid off and it was clearly a different build going in a different direction. When you say come to the same conclusion it’s like you’re downplaying all the time I put into it & say anybody can do it but clearly if anybody could do it they would’ve.
Which is why we go back to my statement saying without me they wouldn’t have nothin. That’s not to say Lurkin’s build is bad or the others aren’t without merit. Surely they are. They operate at a high level if you wanted to use them. Whatever they come up with in the future will likely be great. However what I bring to the table is also a big contribution in itself & take that away, It’ll be a huge loss. I’m not saying that to be egotistical or nothing. It’s just what it actually is. I’ve proven that to myself time & time again.
I’m choosing to participate for the greater good knowing what’s going to happen. However the foolish part for me is thinking something different will happen & that ppl would finally do right by me but as this event has shown, they never do. So I have no choice but to stop publishing and for any one of you who are talented enough, just save it keep it to yourself. It’s not worth the headache.
Don’t be crazy, there’s millions of players, and very few uniques, inevitably some builds will be common. Also there’s not so many viable build for end game. Also I don’t know who you are or what video you are speaking, I don’t watch them and I guess the majority of players either, so don’t foolish yourself.
Then you should message the person and kindly point out the date of your post or video. It should clearly be before others - then ask for the person to credit you.
Nope not doing that because I know they ripped it off & I can see it clear plain as day. They know what they did (or rather not do). The onus to do the right thing is not on me, it’s on them. The only choice I have is to do whatever that’s within my power & that’s withdrawing support.
Then you have absolutely zero recourse. You can’t force someone to credit you on something you literally do not own. Diablo 4 isn’t you. They didn’t use your likeness. Or your face. Or your screenshots.
As I said - you need to inform them and have a dialog. If you can’t or won’t at least attempt that, it’s on you.

You put two researches into two separate rooms working on the same project, I have no doubt you’ll find their work overlaps in more than one instance. That is all I meant, did not mean to offend, I’m trying to look at this objectively mind you with little to no evidence at the time of my reply other than your word.
I’m not one to accuse some one else of doing something without hard evidence, which to be fair, you have provided. Now have you attempted to talk to this individual at all about copying your work?
Or let’s say setup a trap, where you display a build, that’s maybe your first rough draft of said build, but you’ve already perfected it basically. They copy that rough draft build, and you come back with the perfected build, saying if they had done the research themselves they would’ve come to this conclusion instead of blindly copying kind of thing?
I think that would go a long way to discrediting them, assuming you would want to put in the work for it. At this point it just seems like you’re ready to call it good, which I wouldn’t blame you for, it’s not fair to you to have to go through this, people suck sometimes.
Yes but the idea to even do that came from me because I posted about it, and even then it was properly adapted to work w/ the BL build. I guess good on them for figuring it out still.

Yeah I know your intent wasn’t to downplay it. I’m saying that’s how it feels to me as I’m the person that’s affected. I disagree with your 2nd point. If they were two like-minds on the same level, sure. But the fact that they arrive at this conclusion only after building on my build so to speak, means that we are not of like-minds. They were simply able to finish the work that I originally put in. That’s all.
I did that before, it was funny.
Issue is that the changes in s8 are going to make it very hard to see where it would’ve been if I had done it in seasonal. I had originally started work on it on Eternal where I didn’t have access to the powers. So by default there’s a power imbalance there I can’t make up for. Next season, that build will assuredly perform lower in pit tiers and we’ll never know whether it can get higher than 100.
