That’s why this game will never be good. Blizz tries to nerf players - river of tears. What was once given (even accidentally) can never be taken away. It’s a slippery slope to mindless blastfest. The quality of the game does not matter, only that the number of zombies that play it remains high.
This is why the betas were a bad idea to allow streamers in… All it took was a few to showcase how fast pet necros got to level 25 and they nerfed pets into the DIRT.
If it was left alone pet necros would have had the scaling like everyone else and be on par with damage purely from pets not corpse explosion, not bone spear or other curses etc. Just pets.
The issue with this game with starting a new alt is you have to do all the grinding all over all game. The glyph, the season theme, basically everything.
After 3 seasons, I have already seen enough of this Diablo team’s design philosophy, they just make you grind things over and over again by locking item in a fight that require a lot of prerequisites. Make some aspect extreme rare why others keep on dropping. I cannot recalled how many Weapon Mastery has an extra charge, but no Ancient Charge out of the thousands of legendary that were picked up.
The character has no progression. It is a power creep. You just need to get the the few rare nodes that give you those 10 to 30% power creep and you are golden.
Just reduce the Hit Points of every enemy incl. bosses to 1 HP. Balance done. Everybody gangster and stronk. No need for useless mechanics anymore. No need to “play” the game.
What happens if anyone plays a 1-shot class for too long? Loss of all brain-cells?
What kind of controller do barbarian players use? An old 1-button C64 joystick?
There was a post in the “Viziers too stronk” thread the other day where the dude brags how he can kill anything in one shot, but when he charges and a Vizier one shots him it is unfair because he didn’t see it off screen.
I don’t think this segment of the player base understands anything more than:
Sure. It’s why they need to nerf HOTA a bit, so it’s on par with other classes/builds as well. If we keep increasing everyone else to match HOTA then you get power creep, and the game is already way too easy as it is. We don’t need to make it even more boring (by making it easier).
I play some of the jankiest specs every season. I started this season trying the new LS Druid without a guide because of the gloves. From there went to a berserker upheaval custom build that did ok, not hundreds or f millions per hit but still an OP 15-20mil per hit which trivializes all the content in the game even if upheaval is one of the most awkward skills you will ever use.
And then I moved on to try a shadow Necro which is so bad in the early game that I would rather gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon. It will get better once I can add my starless skies and xfals rings but getting to that point is like watching paint dry while someone takes their nails across a chalkboard.
Because the “game is already too easy” crew will have a GD conniption. To them, HoTA is not rewarding. Must have epic, 15-minute fights with every pack of trash mobs and all desirable items should take years of grinding (otherwise it’s just a participation trophy).
I enjoy a challenging 10 minute world boss fight now and then. Thinking of leveling a character to 50, leaving it in WT3, and just logging in to see if a boss is up.
Just did a 7 minutes Avarice fight down in WT2. Still basically just a loot piñata. Lots of death everywhere though, people still haven’t learned how to fight this world boss. Just goes to show, skill not required in this game no matter how you slice it. Just M0Ar BiGG3r D4m4g3!!!
Becoz those awesome players wont stay on WT2, would skip it instead and go straight to WT4. Who you played with were noobs. Who’s staying on WT2? Only noobs.
If I want challenge, I play after Midnight when nobody else plays and Solo the World Boss on WT4.
I never learn.
I love making Alts and leveling them. Different builds etc.
Then it’s Glyph leveling time ‘Ok, bye sunlight, here I come NMD…’ for the next umpteen hours.
There they sit at 70-85 unfinished every single time.
I can run 2 mains no problem - but after 2 mains and 6-7 Glyphs to 15(21 if I’m feeling crazy)…yea, no.
Even leveling alt build glyphs on my mains is sleep inducing.
(not even talking about the stash with alt spec gear, aspects etc…)
The problem with barb is that the arsenal mechanic is way too weak, only giving them 6 weapons (affixes and aspects wise) where most other classes have 2.
There is no way an average barb should have less dexterity (willpower, intelligence) than a top rogue (druid, necromancer/sorcerer).
Barbs should definitely keep those 6, and also wield a staff, two daggers, a crossbow, a katana/wakisashi pair, a sling, a chainsaw, a mountain bike and a jetpack, each with 4 affixes (+1 implicit) and one offensive aspect slot.
I played this last season. I’m testing the viability of a shadow mage without minions this time around to see how it performs. One thing for sure so far is that I am significantly tankier than I have ever been, but until I am able to equip these uniques to juice up my damage I have to wait a little bit while everything dies.
I have also only just entered WT3 as well. As the gear improves the damage will also no doubt improve. Good thing is I get to equip my Uber uniques at level 60, but the rest have to wait until level 80 or I farm them on this character.
