Ignorance: Cooldown timer on potions?

I’ve probably got around 100 hours in the game so far, but for the first time, I had a timer pop up on my potions when I was trying to use them.

Is there some sort of status condition that prevents potion use?

Does spamming potions force a cooldown?

Like I said, I’ve played a fair bit of the game (too much), and this is the first time it happened (resulting in a permadeath lol). Thanks for any answers/insights!

I ran into the same problem…i believe it happens in field of hatred that’s where i experienced it(tier 4)

In the PvP areas there’s a 5 second refresh on potion use.
