If you want AH in aRPG you need to have BOE loot and BOP loot then

You have effectively turned this game into MMO.

Look, I admit at one point I wanted AH in D4. I am a SSF person but I don’t mind some trading here and there if it is easy access. I don’t use 3rd party website at all.

But when you really think about it, AH won’t work. The reason why MMO has AH is because there are 2 distinctive type of loots. BOE (Bind on equip), and BOP (Bind on pickup). For you guys that never played MMO before, essentially BOE gears are the ones designed for you to list them onto AH or trade it to others. and BOP gears are ones that cannot be traded at all, as it binds to your account upon pick up.

And when BOE gears gets equipped, it becomes BOP and can no longer be traded. The reason why these 2 types of distinction exist is so that killing bosses or getting loot drop still have a purpose. Majority of the best loot in the game are still BOP, so you would have to go out and perform whatever activity it is to try and get it to drop. But BOE items can be listed on AH and this will not kill the loot hunting part of the game.

But aRPG does not have BOP or BOE gears. Having AH will kill the need to loot hunt anything and turn this game into AH simulator that people just sit at the AH all day and refresh page see what they need and buy it with a click of a button, using in game gold obviously.

So, this is why AH is not viable , at least not now.

I mean they could do an AH but controls would need to be on place:

  1. Gold untradable
  2. Any reference to seller removed
  3. Nothing lesser then legendary being sold
  4. BoP on purchase
  5. Limit items up per user
  6. Disable person to person trade
  7. Remove the ability to see items dropped on the grounr by party

I do agree with you tho. It will just turn into a trade simulator game but if you want to attempt to remove RMT and toxic behaviors like flipping there needs to be intense restrictions. Yes someone could just buy an account but will they do that every season?

right, so I think it is better we put the AH idea aside for now until blizzard decide to implement further restrictions like the points you mentioned would be a good start.

I do think some mats can be listed on AH for easier access since you know, not everyone is into the extensive grinding for materials. But I am unsure what type of mats are suited to be listed on AH and what needs to be farmed.

That’s why I love Last epoch’s systems. There you can choose either to hunt loot via fortune or trade at Bazaar. Have something for both, everyone happy.

Just give me an auction house. Make it so that items can only be traded once. Adding other restrictions is pointless imo. It doesn’t have to be complicated.

It need more then that. My recommendations are not complicated and fight RMT to the max.
