If you play on Console that SOMEONE ELSE owns the game for. Will it save your character?

If you play on Console that SOMEONE ELSE owns the game for. Will it save your character?

Can you then buy the game later on PC and your character will be there waiting for you?

If you play on a different user id on the console and link that user id to your Battle Net then probably.

Or maybe.

Not really sure how any of this works these days so ignore me lol.

My understanding is that you bind an xb or psn account to your bnet account. Any character created on that xb or psn account belongs to that bnet account. If you wish to play using a different bnet account on a console, you’ll need your own psn or xb account AND a d4 license linked to that specific platform.

Characters are saved to your Bnet account, server side. My fiance and I tested this during the server slam by making a character on her console, then loading it up on my PC.

Everything is cross save, cross progression, etc.

If you own the battlenet that you used, then it carries over. You will only be able to play couch co-op on someone else’s game btw.
