"If you don't want WASD you are stupid"-Asmongold

I’m not the person crying to the devs to change every little part of the game that presents any sort of semblance of difficulty or choice in the game. That is you and many of the other .

In the meantime you can tell them to try controller. I like it far better for movement on controller than I like click to move. Controller does work on PC, not just console.

and wait… Lost Ark has WASD? I tried playing it at launch and quickly gave up because I could only click to move.

it won’t be competitive. Odds are we won’t even see a pvp leaderboard. Just talk to anyone that played in the closed beta, the fights would last 2-5 seconds tops. barbs and druids where the only 2 viable pvp classes Blizz even tweeted at one point they have no intention of having a d4 esport with pvp, with them saying that openly more or less tells you they have no intention of balancing the game for pvp. As for wasd, sure why not id rather use a controller then wasd but thats just me.

yes you can cycle target with right stick but there are things keyboard and mouse still have an advantage over controller. Yes on controller I feel the movement is easier but things like teleport skills and placement skills a keyboard and mouse has a much greater advantage in. Not only can it precisely do those things but take teleport for instance… on a keyboard/mouse you can teleport through stuff and pretty much teleport to the cursor. You cant do that on controller. Its just short distance.

They do make controllers with paddles that can be used as those buttons while still using the right stick. Expensive but they make them.

Oh I believe that they’ve barely worked on pvp otherwise it would of been part of the beta.

It should very much be a work in progress thing tho, behind the scenes, otherwise you Blizzard junkies who aren’t thrilled about pvp will be mouthing off unecessarily.

Controller advantage in pvp will be nutty… the Ability to move and “cast” is wild.

Anyone who says that someone is stupid because they choose to play a GAME in a certain way is wrong!

I heard its not that great + using auto aim for certain abilities and especially things like teleport is 3rd rate compared to mouse.

Who is saying that?

Most people are commenting on WASD being too good for kiting vs other options which is totally valid, especially for the present or future of the game involving PvP.

Not really valid since gamepads already incorporate the ease of WASD. This is just logical inconsistency. If people have an issue with WASD mechanical advantage, then both WASD on keyboards and gamepads would be the issue. The fact that WASD is being selectively attacked when the mechanic is already available through gamepads illustrates the argument is inconsistent thus invalid. There are other agendas at play.

I’m sorry but your first sentence was enough…

WASD is powerful kiting WITH a mouse, OBVIOUSLY you could emulate WASD with any weirdo controller, even a wii mote but the mouse is the factor, the super precision with a mouse vs auto aim is a factor!

im stupid then. it’s settled

i dont want it but im fine with the option being available for those who think they want it. as long as it doesnt delay anything more “urgent”.

i feel like ill have advantages over the wasders anyways so no lobbying from me

Controller can simply use the second joystick to cycle through targets, no need to pinpoint click at all. This could be argued as an even further advantage. You don’t need precision when gamepads target automatically like tab targeting in wow. It makes no sense to argue against WASD when all that would be doing to moderately bringing keyboard and mouse up to par with gamepads.

I’m suuuure tab targetting on a pad is better than mouse.

This is desperation at its finest or a complete lack of care for any PvP potential and its accessibility vs a wide array of players.

I dont want it! It doesnt fit in Diablo IV.

I have found WASD is much easier to play for highly agile isometric ARPGs due to the ease of movement (especially with evasion). The only disadvantage is that it doesn’t translate well when navigating on typical X-shaped pathways (mostly when not perfectly X-shaped) and it makes watching a video of someone playing with WASD look choppy and stuttered and there’s no way around that.

An example of a game that makes WASD isometric suck (but still be optimal/necessary) is Darksiders Genesis. It has some sort of platform-like jump puzzles where WASD is awkward, but it wouldn’t be any better with click-to-move… in fact, it probably wouldn’t even be playable without WASD… Ideally, that’s a type of game that really needs full camera control, but simply doesn’t have it.

You won’t notice that lack of aesthetic streaming with click-to-move, but it’s at the sacrifice of having less comfortable and responsive movement.

While everyone has their own preference, I can’t see anybody having a logical basis to not want WASD possible (it would have to retain click-to-move, of course) unless it’s due to them wanting to watch streaming videos that look more realistic since WASD controls always make movement unrealistic-looking.

What an intellectually lazy approach. You can make any stupid argument and say “prove me wrong”. If you assert something to be true, then the burden of proof is on you to prove its true.

You need to explain why he is right and why this game should have it.
