He’s not wrong.
WASD worked perfectly fine in Diablo Immortal (despite the flaws that game clearly has).
I’m not a fan of his, but when he’s right – he’s right.

First thing I remembered after not playing a Diablo in decades was : Oh yeah carpal tunnel from move clicking!

Asmongold is a tool and people should stop listening to him.

But in this case, and almost ONLY this case, he’s right. There’s no valid reason for wasd movement to not be an option. It SHOULD be an accessibility option.

Why should this game not have an optional control scheme that you don’t have to use?

I don’t agree with most of what he says. But from my experience, the more options you have in a game the more comfortable players feel whether it is customizing their character, the way their controls work and key mapping/binding, etc.

I’ve played one twin stick game, The Ascent, and it should be how most newer ARPG’s function as a default with an option for click to move. It is more responsive and you get quicker results because you are not using the same pointer to attack and also move they are separate and so you can attack while moving. It is just all around better from my experience.

To each their own.

WASD moves the game into quasi-twin stick shooter territory. It IS superior for movement, but then the game needs to be rebalanced around it.

Controllers, especially, would have a more difficult time.

Add it sure even though it isn’t needed really. Mouse works fantastic. I use it to move in wow and any other game that has it. wasd is really only for dungon crawlers / first person stuff.

I like it in Immortal and prefer WASD honestly it’s one of the reasons I might not play long term.

Asmon is just one single human being. He is not better than any of us and his opinion is just his opinion.
That said, with controller support there is no (obvious) reason why D4 should not have it.

WASD could certainly be introduced but i lick point and click… just I am having an issue, last time i played i setup my commands to split movement and basic attack and it was perfect. Now when i use basic attack ( not my movement key ) it still moves to the location? i dont understand. This wasn’t happening last week
