If you are redesigning Necro skeletons

Why not let the player choose which skeleton model gets raised? There is no way that every single person hated the skeleton models that were used in the beta. I know I didn’t.

It shouldn’t be too difficult to put the option in the wardrobe or something.

Maybe they could sell that in the shop to have a skeleton by choice. It would be really great to have a couple of Michael Jacksons run around (like in Thriller).

Did they say they were reworking them? To me, they jumped out too much in contrast to the rest of the world like they belonged in a Scooby Doo cartoon. I think that’s most peoples complaints not that the models themselves were bad.

I kind of wish they DIDN’T have the annoying glow to them, miss my bony boys from 2.

Pretty sure they basically just yoinked the skeles from D3 as a stand in rush job to get something together for the beta. Don’t think the asset was ever intended to be present in D4. Looks just like D3 ones and doesn’t fit D4 aesthetic.

Edit: in response to above, yes they did say they were changing them, it’s on the forums somewhere among a list of things they plan to fix. Interestingly the rest of the list is all server and stability related then it’s just ‘get proper models for skeletons’. Part of why I suspect the above.

“Necromancer summons luminance levels are not fully finalized. They will be adjusted for launch.” ?

I dunno…that’s just the annoying glow maybe. They even have the Necro class highlights 35 seconds vertical strip for phones (/YT shorts) video showing the beta model.

Also…hilarious how they still haven’t learned from the “Don’t you guys have phones.” and keep designing advertisement around that, in a way.

Thanks for the correction on what they actually said. My memory of it was probably warped by my suspicions about the origins of the models.

Perhaps they’ll just tone it down. I’d much rather see no glow skeles myself.

I actually like the glow so I can see them.

I had a Druid with werewolf pets and I was a werewolf and I was fighting a werewolf. It was like a bad dream.

I hope you’re being sarcastic. I don’t want to see a bunch of goofy stuff running around in the game because they can sell it as a cosmetic. What you described is one step away from having pink unicorns as minions.

That cosmetic is the one i would buy for sure!

There are numbers of ways you can reimagine current skellies to fit dark theme of the game. I think adding variety to shop would be great idea - if they are still matching overall tone of D4.

If they give me a solo mode, I don’t care if they make the skeleton mages Care Bears and their attack care bear stares

Dang this is an interesting topic, blizz would probably make tons of money letting people pay to choose skeleton minion skins for necro lol, imagine all the posibilities of how skeleton minions can look like… Would be cool if i can have skeleton minions look like cooks with chef hats and kitchen knifes as weapons, maybe golem can be a meat golem made out of steaks and sausages!

Soon, for only U$19.99 on blizstore

Oh thank god they are reworking the skeletons. When I first summoned them from some dead wolves my head almost exploded. They look so cheesy and out of place.

I guarantee there will be skill effect cosmetics, they sell really well in POE and Blizz would be foolish not to get in on that action.

Though the glow was fine, nothing but overreaction.

MTX sell, skill skin, profit!

poe sells skins for their minions ,so its defiantkly a possibiltiy for this game hopefully.

Current models do not fit the game and art at all, very very lazy copy paste from d3 which is a completely different art style. For me it ruined my necro play time as they are so integral to the class build and I would not play it again if they released like this.
For people saying it’s an over-reaction, it’s your fair opinion and I respect that you are happy with it, but it’s not ok to tell people what they need from a game.
