One of the cool things about playing on xbox is it’s like steam where you can see how many people get different achievements. I just went to the xbox website after getting level 100 tonight (I had previously gotten it in preseason) and I was surprised to see just how few people are reaching high levels.
You can see here that out of all the players that downloaded and played this game, only 1.83% of them reached level 100. Only 3.52% have reached level 90 which is shown with the acheivement under it by upgrading potion to highest level.
When I had originally gotten lvl 100 back on July 5th, the percentage was around 1.5%. XP gains are way too slow, expecially when 96.48% aren’t reaching level 90 and 98.17% aren’t reaching level 100.
Here’s a screen shot I took from the website - remove the space to view it.

You can reach level 100 in 40 hours of total playtime if you run nightmare dungeons back-to-back with a build that’s optimized for leveling. That’s a little under 6 hours a day. Like I said, ultra casual for the start of a season.
I’d be one of those 95% of players that downloaded it and played it for about 5 mins then quit. Big difference between a free to play game compared to one where you had to pay $70-100.
Look up any powerleveling video on YouTube. 40 hours is a conservative estimate. If you meta-game to the max, you can probably get to level 100 in half that time, or even less. If you are too lazy to YouTube, just run Domhainne Tunnels non-stop.
You are talking about the hardcore crowd. Which is shown when you say 6 hours a day is ultra casual. Most people aren’t running the same dungeon back to back to back until your brain shuts off for hours on end. We already know those type of people will play to 100. There is a thing called a bubble, and your view and attitude of diablo is currently residing in the bubble.
For sure.
Now all that’s left is to drop all the unique items available only in WT3 and 4, and before reaching lvl50. To have that famous “leveling-optimized build”.
And if you’re playing barbarian, you need to be at least lvl75 to be able to play in WT4.
(Of course, the damage will still suck.)
Looking up a build on Maxroll that has already been hyperoptimized for you, then looking up a leveling route that has also been hyperoptimized for you, is peak casual gameplay. You aren’t theorycrafting anything yourself, killing a super hard boss, or doing anything groundbreaking, for that matter.
Okay fanboy or undercover Blizzard dev.
Nobody cares about a youtuber or streamer with his super build ready beforehand, and whose only job is to record videos, if he found a cool super route to reach lvl100 in 2 seconds!!!
What you’re not understanding is that nobody wants another Diablo 2 situation, which is extremely time consuming to reach lvl100.
That simple.
So what’s ultra casual? Being a casual dad who has 5 minutes to play a day after buying groceries for both of his wives, dropping off all of his 10 kids at school, and moonlighting as a junior league football coach to cover the bills?
Ok, but the casual player is going to be on their 1 and only character so they will need to do renown while levelling, they will do season journey, they will do dungeons for aspects etc.
You’re example is of an ALT, where all the hard work that isn’t XPing is already done.
