Honestly at the moment I am learning towards not buying the xpac since buying the base game was basically paying for a BETA test/early release title. Its no secret the game has been a mess since day 1. I am glad about the PTR and this should be a permanent feature(I don’t understand why its not), and should have been in the game since day 1 as well. I am curious though, if they don’t get the itemization right would you buy the XPAC? For me it is a flat no. The impression I get from many is that the failure in the itemization would be the final nail in the coffin for them. Thoughts?
aiya the game sucks. stop playing the game already.
Ill buy if it looks interesting. Its not like its a life changing purchase, its really not that big of a deal.
Not buying until all the expansions are out and I can judge if I want to pay for 5 more stash tabs and colored shoe laces as the bonus. Until then blizzard has burned too many IPs and I can’t support sales over gameplay.
At this rate the game will perhaps be finished in 2 years, I will see at that time
You will be buy it, so at the very least you can come on the forum and complain about.
It will be a hate buy.
It is unlikely the forum will require expansion purchase
Maybe Blizzard should reconsider that.
This will be the first fix to itemisation I’d say the xpac will be full fix 2.0 if you will
If the itemization were bad that would be the final nail, Because the one class that I’d be inclined to have played in this is a Ranger class and to tell the truth I find the Rogue
as Hell, The Demon Hunter in the end had bow skills that worked not as well as the Amazons but work they did. I think what gets in the way are the cool down mechanics are too MMO like and not RPG like
that’s not the only issue but I believe it to be the main one
Just wait for when the xpac is released and see if it’s worth buying.
I think it’s pretty simple.
no, there is no chance that itemization here will be good.
It’s pretty simple it’s just impossible to make good itemization with D3 aka D4 core mechanics.
I buy everything. Even plush toy versions of the devs.
I’ll wait for a sale, which should take a month or two from release. At most I’ll miss out on some free cosmetics and a title or two from the seasons, but that would be it, since I don’t buy battle passes. I’d also like to see the problems that arise when the expansion hits and see if it’s worth buying.
The game needs more than just this itemization rework. It’s a good start, or rather hopefully it will be, but in my opinion it won’t be enough without additional content. If we get S4 and it turns out the itemization rework is good, but we’re still doing NMD and Duriel farms it’ll fall flat real quick. Yes Joe hinted at more endgame content, but it’ll depend on what it is.
I have no issues waiting, by the time it comes out there will be plenty of other games to play. For that matter I still have plenty of games in my backlog I need to play. Even if I started today I wouldn’t finish them all by the time the expansion came out.
Unless they step up their game, probably not. So far this live service game has provided nothing more than was provided in D3, other than MTX. Which at this point, some of it is cool, but I can’t see having to buy full sets of it to get one or two pieces that I may want.
Yes, for sure. The itemization, as it is now, was never a problem for me. I’ve had plenty of fun in the game so far (1000+ hours). What will stop me from playing though is the lack of end game to keep me engaged for the full season. Currently it’s finished and done with in about a week.
That has to change drastically. Even if it does not, I will still do the expansion. I did like the campaign in the base game, and I don’t see why the expansion campaign would not be as good/better.
I’ll still purchase the expansion if reasonably priced. I’m not expecting a huge change in itemization anyway. I think they will have taken the pruning shears to them and made them easier to understand but I think they will still be very familiar to what we have.
If the Xpac is on PC game pass I will get it free as I already have a sub. Wont be paying retail for it hell no.
D4 most overpriced underbaked game of 2023. It feels like it’s still in beta.
This is what happens when you take the development team and tell them to make Diablo Immortal for mobile phone then try to get back into the PC scene with D4. Its too heavily influenced by mobile phone level depth and design.
no low income enjoyer like 99% from the forum —> i buy it save and have a good time
and don’t turn over every dollar 8 times, gaming is one of the cheapest hobbies you can have…
pretty unlikely as usually expansions or dlcs have to be bought on the xbox game pass. Tho at a reduced price.
The same people who are complaining about D4 will be complaining about the expansion at the end of the year.
