If the devs are trying then what's the point in being mad?

There are SO MANY reasons I could give as to why the game is in its current state, but people seem to be overlooking the developers again and again…Did anyone watch the fireside? They’re trying to do what the game needs for its fundamentals, just take a look at the newer patches that are getting released.
Asmon brought up a great point while watching them the other day that really connected the dots for me. “A dime a dollar” he said and honestly it made me rethink a few things…Why don’t players give them the time of day to understand that development is a long process and fixes TAKE TIME. Haven’t we learned anything from Diablo 3?? Give it time and eventually things will change. That’s one thing players today don’t get and it’s one thing they dont deserve.

Maybe if they were actually trying, this would be a decent take. However, they aren’t. Not really. They have completely neutered EVERYTHING. Survavability, exp gain, damage done in all forms. The only thing they buffed, is damage TAKEN BY THE PLAYER! On top of all the other garbage happening where they “listen to your feedback”, and then roll out more nerfs and 0 buffs. No QoL. No “Renown is no longer going to be a seasonal thing. Max it once, and it’s maxed for the rest of the time you play the game”. No nothing. No thing that the playerbase has been asking for, no matter have valid and necessary, is being added. They are NOT trying.

they shouldn’t have released the game if it wasn’t ready, this is what beta and QA is for.

People having mental breakdowns are mostly just bored and need to vent… But development is usually done before you sell the product to your consumer though. My time with Diablo 4 is done for now, any changes they make now will not change the experience I’ve already had. It was fun at times, but was still far below my expectations. Blizzard already took my money, they do not also deserve to have me waiting around for their game to eventually become fun for me.

And you’re right, I had this exact same experience with Diablo 3 and should really learn to not pre-order anything from blizzard…

so trhe deal is this:

  1. Talk is Cheap.
  2. Asmon kek

Blockquote Why don’t players give them the time of day to understand that development is a long process and fixes TAKE TIME.

This is a live game and one you had to pay a premium price to obtain, not a scrappy early access game you get for 1/4 of the Diablo 4 price. This game is released in the summer, with first season released at the end of summer. The developers clearly want people to invest time and money into this game (judging by the amount of grind & RNG). With that in mind, why should the player (aka us) have low expectation from the developers?

Trying huh, but they are just spouting crap like said something about not try to slow the game down, than you got

CDR Nerfed
3 second to 5 second leaving dungeon
Horrible inventory management
Exp&helltide nerfed
Seasonal theme = kill elite > click on heart > zzzz > kill it again

Everything they did it all to slow you down.

You serious? The devs were as passionate as it gets and you could really tell in the fireside they knew what was going on and how to fix it. Now I know they don’t watch Asmon like the poe devs but hey nobodys perfect haha.
I say we give them another chance, sure the release was rushed but thats the fault of management…The future of diablo 4 is in good hands as long as they don’t give into the complainers like you, then we get another vanilla d3.

Trying is an objective term here.

They are sledgehammer nerf/buffing and making more loot that sucks to begin with drop lol.

Saying “Just give the game 2 years to get good” is the same thing as saying “D4 will be bad for the next 2 years”

Most people aren’t upset that the Dev’s are trying or not, they are upset that Diablo 4 launched in the state that it’s in to begin with, that it lacks any innovation and is no more than a dungeon simulator with bad loot, bad scaling, bad progression and no content to try and stay motivated to do.

It simply should not be this bad to begin with, not that the dev’s aren’t trying to make it better.

they are not trying as the first 2 seasons are set in stone, they jumped the gun, and are now paying for it, i have no remorse for how they are being received.

You can not flip the script like this, i think what you mean to say is “Why did Dev’s not learn from D3”

To put it on the player is 100% Gaslight (verb-manipulate (someone) by psychological means into doubting their own sanity. )

Stop being poor.

Anyways, personally I’m happy to have Diablo 4 now. The idea of delaying the game until it is “great” is icky because it just means we would get less of the game. I get to enjoy Diablo 4 now and then I’ll get to enjoy more Diablo 4 later when it gets even better.

Bruh, people were having permanent damage immunity because immunity length was overrunning cooldown duration. Most melee builds were running perma-CC immune as well as not even a large build-around. You guys are insane if you think nerfs weren’t needed if that respect.

There have been bad changes to the game but that isn’t one of them.

The Devs seriously underestimated the amount of irrational mental breakdowns that exist within the community. They expected mature, well-adjusted adults but instead got unhinged children.

Exactly. Anyone who can’t grasp these concepts are quite frankly noobs and shouldn’t even have a voice on this forum. It was funny because Asmon was actually talking about some of the posts on the forums a few weeks ago, said some of the topics were cool lol.
I think what we really need is to be HAPPY with these patches and firesides and start to really let the developers go wild. They love the game and we love the game so everyone wins.

Atleast the devs did not as they follow the same route again and that is one of the main issues.
That’s really sad for players with passion, devs with passion and…yeah that’s it bc all others at AB seems fine with the sales and bloodmoney ripped out of this IP.

Bruh…cause people are upset the game was released in the state it was - to NEED this many corrections to core and fundamental gameplay. People are willing to overlook bugs and glitches and things not quite working exactly right - but when devs seem so out of touch to release a massive nerf patch that literally does nothing but make everything worse to an already-tense playerbase, this is what happens.

Here’s my whole take on the situation:

I think people should stop being so antagonistic and hostile towards the developers. Moreover, I do think Diablo IV is in a fine state. Not great, not terrible. Just fine, but people are within their right to be frustrated.

The game isn’t releasing in two months. It’s not releasing in three months. It released two months ago at $70. That price tag comes with expectations.

Not to mention needing professional help.

People are mad that gaming has been corrupted just like every other industry. We were lucky decades ago because video games hadn’t yet caught the attention of the capitalist vultures that run our world. But games like WoW showed the rich that there was money to make and people to exploit. Now gaming is in their hands just like everything else. People then scream into the void (post on forums like this) out of frustration.

EXACTLY. Most people don’t even get to the later stages of the game and think thats all there is…Or they’re just clowns who picked a bad class without doing RESEARCH like an actual serious player would.
Overall the developer outlined in the fireside why they do what they do and we need to take that at face value, no complaining noobs yapping away so our incredible game gets watered down more and more…D3 was the past, let’s not let it turn into the future.
-Rhabdolith wuz heeere lol

This game could use some development help from professionals.
