If eternal players are so a marginal group

why the chat is full of not happy (furious) eternal players? They (we) all are here?

Blizzard has the numbers. They know who logs in which server. How much time each player spend in corresponding server. Who actually go into the world to kill monsters. Things like that. Most of the forum complainers are just Seasonal players looking for their glory days on Eternal Realm.

So whats the point in keeping the eternal realm? Just to make people angry?

Yes, you have a complaint, so you’re here. Also, the forum skews old, and some of us older heads happen to be the people more likely to play Eternal over seasons. :joy: :v:

Good point. Should lose it

I like using Eternal to workshop and maintain a stable of my tippy top characters that sit there maxed out for when I feel like taking them out for a spin, kinda like that old Corvette that sits in the garage until you feel like riding around real fast just because.

What has Blizzard (or seasonal players) to lose in making eternal gameplay more interesting? Or at least less frustrating?

The will to play seasons, from what I’ve been reading they are mad that we have to start over but y’all don’t

It depends on the flavor of the day or the week.

Forums were also full of threads that revolve:

  • Casuals crying about difficulty
  • Barb nerfs
  • Sorc nerfs
  • Lilith mechanics
  • Reforming gear

Just because you see multiple of these threads doesn’t automatically mean they are not marginal. Maybe yes, maybe no. But you should not use threads to rely on how marginal a group is.

I think the main issue is that they have rolled out itemization changes one after another in such a short time.
I think everyone understands that seasonal will always take precedence over eternal but it’s been a bit of a rough go lately. I can sympathize with that.
I am sure that the devs would like to keep eternal happy. It just has not been in the cards lately.
Imho, I think eternal players should probably consider taking a break till things become more stabilized.

Got it. But in this case (an evident exagerate chain of changes) and because all the discontent seems to be around the mythic items… Why not for once make eternal players happy and upgrade their mythics?

I mean it wont hurt anybody…

eternal players represent more than 50% of player base. that’s why devs get irritated and try to crush eternal play, we do not pay seasons passes you know …

…and there will be a special place in hell for us where we dont get fireball liquor served and no easy women.

Exactly. Why is it such a big deal ?

If they cannot do that i wonder if they could cross reference every single persons mythic items scheduled for destruction (because of being outdated) and then set up an automated mail that sends them the updated item and they have to re masterwork it.

To me that seems easier and would give the interns something to do.
Compile lists, automate lists, send at date and time.

Plus the player would get a few resplendent sparks when they decon the old.

I would put a limit on it per character/account though, and it needs to be accounted for 100% so people lying about or duping lose.

So by specific date, if only allowed a max of 4 sent by mail, you would need to delete all the mythic’s you are not keeping from your inventory. (or they just automate the entire process)

Then the ones you want to keep stay in your inventory,
and are mailed updated versions to your chest.

They would need a mythic delete/keep notice upon login for this plan though.

Thats what i would do in this situation.
But its not my game.

And where did you pull this number from?
Because I sure don’t buy it.

Source please.

Depending on how you calculate it it can be much more than 50%. Even Rob as example, the by definition seasonal gamer, should be considered an eternal player. I have seen many videos of him testing builds, damage, etc… on eternal…

Same, many eternal players should be considered seasonal players as every now and again they play seasons…

Totally agree! Let’s just take away leveling, paragon, skill trees, and gear. Every time someone complains, we’ll just strip another feature away! :upside_down_face:

Must be a problem somewhere if the most exciting part of a more than a year old game is to take part to PTR every 2 months
