Metacritic user reviews are an absolute joke and one of the main reasons that so many sites now require people to be verified purchasers or have their reviews reviewed before they get posted.

Metacritic is to game reviews what Userbenchmark is to benchmarks.

The user review scores are the only honest ones. The ‘professional reviews’ with 4-5 out of 5 are laughable. Some reviews exclaim it’s the best Diablo yet! It’s just…what game were they playing? Or how desperate were the reviewers to stay on Activision’s good side for future review copies of games?

I think it’s only fair that if the gaming media is going to exaggerate and inflate the score, the customers should counter with the same.

Who cares about reviews. It’s all tampered by bots and salty teenagers who think their opinions matter. If you like it, play it. If you don’t, move on and stop moaning. No one cares about your opinion.
