I think it would easily be the game of the year and maybe the best ARPG of the last 3-5 years.
And to think they had a very successful blueprint to use as a blueprint but instead create and launch this…

Thats how i read it.
Though i still disagree, it this dropped today in a world with poe. last epoch, etc with no previous diablo since D2…i highly doubt game of the year.

Launched today AS IS… Apparently you lack reading comprehension.
I remember the horrible drop rates and the only place to get upgrades being the auction house.
I am specifically talking about having D3 today sitting in front of you.
And mounts? You have WoW also sitting in front of them… It doesn’t make any sense.

Eh D3 today. There are far better action rpgs out now that blow D3 away.
Launch was very bad. There were tons of issues and problems. The AH and drop rates. Lack of content.
Its almost like they are repeating history which is what bottles my mind.

D3 is open the way of end for diablo name and now with the 4 chapter they try to completely destroy it! THEY no learn nothing on what BEST ARPG is (Diablo 2 LOD) And worst ARPG is ( Diablo 3 )
POE team understand what have to copy and make game like diablo 2 lod and they got success , now with poe 2 they insert the best upgrade d4 put in ( the evade meccanic and adjust some thing they no copy well on d2 ) and increase the quality of game! That’s is the different!
It would get eaten alive by Tears of the Kingdom, Revenant II, Baldur’s Gate 3, possibly Starfield?? Idk. This is a good year for games and something like D3 wouldn’t float for very long.
I literally don’t think it would be much different from what D4 is going through now.

It would be fun for a few weeks and fail in the same area that D4 did, which is itemization. The thrill of hunting desired yet reasonably rare loot is what delivers that shot of dopamine that keeps people coming back.
D3 & D4 have many more great features and improvements over D2, except for the most important one, itemization. This is why people can farm the same easy content in D2 for countless hours, because they might get some amazing unique or high rune.
D4 has nothing to look forward to in terms of loot. Most of the really great uniques are Uber uniques which have ridiculous drop rates. I don’t mind items being very hard to get, but if you can’t trade them, you have to increase them a little. Even casino’s let people win sometimes to bring them back.
Please look at the loot principles in D2 and you’ll easily figure out where D3 and D4 failed. I’m not saying they have to be the same items, but the principles around them. Loot is not exciting in D4. We spend too much time reading stats on yellow gear to determine if it’s a small ugprade or not. Our biggest upgrades come from level 15 glyphs. This is a problem.

You want me to tell you how I ran around 13 years ago in D3. The AH was big, gold bugs everywhere. I could care less about WOW. If I wanted to go back in time it would NOT be to go sit at a screen with D3 again around launch.

Serious u no see there is a big problem with all the loot u make in this trash d4 game that make it bad than D3 AH??? I am the only loot item on lvl 21 - 30 NMD item with power lvl 802-819 that are endgame equip with perf stat?? ( SO WHAT THE POINT TO PLAY GAME with scale difficulty lvl if u can take all u need from lowest level raid?)

How is D4 missing all the QoL and systems of D3?
I am fairly disenfranchised with games these days. Every launch of a major game is an even more major disappointment.
