Ideas to fix survivability issues

(Recommendations assuming immortality build is gone)

  1. Instead of having an invulnerability uptime on flamebarrier, just make it disappear on a certain number of hits.

  2. Make evade instantaneous as a small teleport. Don’t animation lock us during evade. We are a glass canon class, and we can’t afford not to dodge. If we die this easily, we should not lose damage for dodging. Else, being tanky is always gonna be superior and easier to play.

  3. Increase our movement speed more.

  4. Add a bit more passive survivability like a buff that makes us tankier the faster we are moving, so we don’t get oneshot by random, tiny, trash mobs. But make sure we aren’t tanky. We should die easily as sorc, but our damage and mobility needs to be high.

Disclaimer: I don’t expect perfect balance, but it’s also about having fun in the end. The current situation of clunky mobility, low tankiness is very lame.

Add more equipment slots. Barb has a ton, rogue has extra. All classes should have the same amount.

We hear you, and thus:

  • we’re going to nerf cooldown on all sorc defensive skills
  • we’re going to make flame shield start going on cooldown after it ends
  • we’re also going to remove barrier generation from ice shield so you only get a static amount
  • last but not least, we are removing cooldown implicit from focuses

roll a 80% barrier Temerity, plus casting some defensive skills immediately top up barrier to 100% = our HP.
so if we have 25k HP, barrier also up to 25k, a total of 50k hit points to tank damage.

Soulbrand looks premium as an defensive/survival unique but not gaining popularity. i think it is time to buff its damage reduction to 50%.

Soulbrand has been bugged forever; the DR from the unique affix does not work.
