The lair bosses are a lot better than they used to be.
One big problem, though, is the time sink for the higher torment bosses.
You shouldn’t be able to get more out of these higher torment bosses, but you shouldn’t be penalized for it either.
A solution to this might be:
For each additional torment tier, you need double the resources to open the chest. This way, you can spend twice as much time on a torment 4 boss as on a torment 3 boss.
To compensate for the higher cost, you have twice the chance for an item being ancestral.
It could look like this:
- Torment 1:
5 Uniques, each with a 12.5% chance of being ancestral,
0.1% chance of being mythic per item, 12 materials - Torment 2:
5 Uniques, each with a 25% chance of being ancestral,
0.2% chance of being mythic per item, 24 materials - Torment 3:
6 Uniques, each with a 50% chance of being ancestral,
0.4% chance of being mythic per item, 48 materials - Torment 4:
7 Uniques, each with a 100% chance of being ancestral,
0.8% chance of being mythic per item, 96 materials
Also 33% chance to get an additional item per additional party member.
The number of items will not change, only the number of non-GA items will be smaller.
Of course, the number of higher boss materials that drop need to double as well.
And the stack size of the boss materials needs to be higher than 99, maybe 500 or 999 or maybe even 666 would be better.
This solution could help make the boss fights only a small part of the game and the farming of materials would be the main part.
