When facing the butcher in NMD 55+ I just skip him, for some reason I can’t do any meaningful damage to him, even when I get his barrier to drop. Which Usually deplete all my mana as well.
Than I have to hit hard enough, before his barrier comes back again.
Note: I’m lvl 100.
Does anyone else face issues with this surprise boss as well? Dungeon end bosses are far easier to handle than the Butcher.
I dont even bother fighting him at all. I just give up everytime to save time.
The issue is you are playing a 100 sorc like I am and we dont get to enjoy parts of this game every other class does. Such as killing bosses and butcher with ease. Instead when butcher spawns in a 50+ nm dungeon it just means you actually only have 3 respawns instead of the normal 4.
Lv 100 should easily kill nm55 -70 butcher atm, you can just kite around a pillar and since he can’t one shot you at such low nm <70 , he is rarely ever able to touch you. With some practice, you can pretty just not get touch.
dont think ice shard can kill butcher in regular way , u need to find a pillar and play around , that the only way
Or play Necro: a few shoots and he is dead.

They screwed up with some overpowered characters in the game. I hope they will balance it soon.
I feel you. Playing my blizzard build without glacial(refuses to drop) and i farm 27s but cant kill butcher when he spawns 
Same with Arc lash sorc. I had never won butcher since playing as a sorc. While never failed as rouge.
Sorc has to kite that bugger and eventually just win by attrition.
Meanwhile necro is like “Butcher? Never seen him.”
