So this is the build I most wanted to try this season (well after Ice Shards anyway which both Rob and Wudi have labelled as trash tragically)
However despite having 5 ranks in Ice Armor, Blizzard and Deep Freeze my spikes barely seem to do any damage at all, and I’m basically being carried by my boss powers currently.
This is exactly the kind of situation I had hoped to avoid. Now, I understand why Avalanche doesn’t affect Ice Spikes, but it still feels bad. Furthermore, levelling all of the associated skills should scale all Ice Spike damage, not just the ones generated by the associated skills and their respective aspects.
The devs said they would try to get on top of things in the first week or so, so get to it. Unrelated, but I saw that Macro was pointing out yet again a multitude of issues with Necromancer.
One season. One season that isn’t a clown show is all I ask

I just want to see other builds become viable…these same meta builds over and over really take away the fun.
And making things harder to kill does not equal fun. Players want to feel powerful…not use the same skill 100 times to kill something just to move on to the next mob that takes 100 skill pushes.

I mean they were right to make the game harder because for too long we’ve been able to just faceroll endgame. What happened with the SB in S6 should never have been allowed, that was just stupid.
But it is definitely upsetting to see the same S tier builds season after season, with nothing being done to buff the under performers no matter how much we scream about them…

Does the vulnerable damage part of avalanche not work on ice spikes also or just the skill damage part?
The S8 guild guides I looked at for Blizzard use avalanche.
Vulnerable works, skill does not because it’s an external damage source.
EDIT: at least I think it does need to double check now…
