Ice Blade and lucky hit

Before the game released, it was assumed that the lucky hit of ice blade was 71% over the course of the spell.

I just did some runs with with the avalanche aspect, max precision, max frigid breeze, and some more lucky hit on gear and while barrier active. Before I was running oom on bosses frequently, but with this setup, I almost never ran oom on bosses. While not definitive, this leads me to believe that it’s 71% per hit, making ice blades one of the best if not the best lucky hit generator in the game. It also worked with trash. And has the side of effect of reducing your CD on nova/ice armor a bit too. Honestly has a huge impact on my ice shards build.

Anyone else running ice blade that can confirm this experience as well?

This works best with destructive ice shards and not greater ice shards.

edit: It’s almost for sure per hit with more testing. I’ve almost solved the mana issue with my build allowing me to use at least one different ring that focuses on dps.

Use it as an enchantment too with other cool downs and you can get several of them up at once then you have 3 of them reducing your cool downs again.

Good idea. I’ll have to try it, but I’m liking frost bolt enchant a lot atm for trash to freeze stuff faster. Can switch to it on bosses at least since ice shards enchant does nothing for them.

Yeah I don’t have it optimized with gear or anything but I think in theory you could get to a point where you could spam ice blades and maybe get very short cool downs on ultimate skills.

I think Deep freeze synergizes well with it, but I don’t have space on my skill slot for deep freeze. Ice armor, teleport, blizzard, ice shards, and frost nova are core to the build. So it’s either ice blade or deep freeze using ice blade enchant only. I could test that, but doesn’t sound good and seems like a waste of skill points to go into deep freeze.
