Just a random thought I had. If if you look at almost all games out of Japan one thing they have in common is attractive protagonists. American games used to do this too until companies became afraid of the danger hairs on Twitter calling them mean names. Now if you look at most American games they go out of their way to make the characters ugly. Blizzard just proved that in spades.
I’m not saying the character need to go full anime perfect…but they (especially the male ones) can look a little less like they fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. I mean Jabba the Druid…The necro that looks like he spends all of his free time doing crystal m3th.

I’m perfectly satisfied with my female necro, this is an edgy themed game, but I have to admit, I have zero desire to play Druid because how the character looks.

Never got the impression Japan cared much about Diablo anyway. And well, they cant sell Diablo 4 in China right now.
That said, Asian games also have different character designs. Mario aint a looker!
I did, feels bad, but the face will be hidden by helm anyway, necro has some good looking skull helms.
Blizzard games was hugely popular in China as far as I know. Since like 20 years go.
China boys look like aliens. Graphics are in the eyes of the beholders.
Definitely. But they dont have a Chinese distributor anymore, so D4 will sell 0 copies. At least legally.
Druid looks really horrible, even if it was super-fun to play (which is not), just the awful look would prevent me from playing it.
Necro is a street junkie.

Regardless of country, it will depend if Diablo 4 is a good enough game to make you forget the character creator. But it’s a stupid way for Blizzard to shoot themselves in the foot. Tons of Asian games (ie: Team Ninja games) have pretty basic gameplay but add 10 points and become enjoyable because you can create sick af characters.
I mean just google “Wo Long”, I was watching Maximilian Dood play the game and he literally created a character that looks like him. It really adds to the experience.

For all their talk about making your character this has to be the worst excuse for a character creator I’ve ever seen. Immortal the mobile game from the same IP has a better creator.

They will probably find a distributor soon, the game currently has simplified (mainland) and traditional Chinese (Taiwan)options.
This is the problem with people who are blinded by their ideology and cant distinguish group from individuals. You need help. Get off YouTube and actually go out to interact with people instead of chain watch contents that are catered to your temperament.
I don’t care if they default them all to look like minecraft sprites. Give us the ability to make them look the way we want them to. I won’t play the druid because the gameplay isn’t my style…but even if it were, I’d hate the avatar I had to look at the entire game. And enough with the damn virtue signalling already.
