I wish I could refund

UPDATE: I’ve changed my mind. But I left the original post for transparency.

There is nothing in this game for me. I can’t replay the campaign on all tiers. I can’t play the classes/builds I want because the promise of build diversity was an illusion. Sure, you can play your way, but when I do, I can’t get out of tier 1. I beat the campaign, and have little to no interest in grinding dungeons or doing bounties for that tree. Earning gold is a chore when you have to salvage everything. After beating the campaign and hitting level 50, I have four or five legendary items in my bank. I can’t extract the aspects without mats that require salvaging legendary items, so they just sit. Even the mount feels sluggish and bouncy. It’s hard to describe, but I stopped using mine within ten minutes.

I wish I could refund, but I purchased the game months ago. What a waste.

Same, there are so many designs errors in this game.

It starts with the camping, which is most easy from level 1-30, when you have skill power and good weapon drops, until you reach the level 30-50 area, were there is simply no gear improvements and enemies gets stronger and stronger with each level, before you unlock wt3, with better items.

So simply ignore all enemy, only rush bosses, and campaign is the most easy experience.

Than world map, simpl 90% is empty, so people stick to the 10% of the game, were blizzard forgot to remove the enemies.

The game is too good to refund. Also their effort to reduce the queue or make it non-existent makes them deserving of some praise.

My character is level 50 and has pretty good gear. But I can’t beat the capstone, not that I’d survive in tier 3. So, it doesn’t matter much. Dead game unless they do a major overhaul.

Matchmaking can solve a lot of the issues with capstone and lvl 30+ areas being much different in difficulty. It’s just a shock and people shouldn’t be dead in the water. There shouldn’t be a “wrong” build. Matchmaking would eliminate the oops I made a wrong build effect. Let people use the skills they want.

What is matchmaking? I mean, what would it do to solve these issues? Do you mean a group finder?

FU. I’ve had two strokes and have arthritis. I don’t need to explain why I can’t do something. The game is just too damn hard and extremely broken.

Same. Those were my exact thoughts yesterday. If I could refund then I would. If your monsters are going to scale then for players to feel any sort of growth you have to do it with abilities and gear that create an advantage. You can’t then go and universally nerf hammer everything in sight. This is EXACTLY what ruined WoW. Took away the fun and replaced it with a slogging grind that feels like an extra job. Even worse, when nerfs this huge get applied this broadly… I can no longer trust that Blizzard won’t arbitrarily destroy any class/build that I shift to at any time and without warning. I had 2 other toons to shift to and they were also nerf hammered into feeling like trash to play. Who wants to play a game where it feels like the rules can change at any time? 3 toons that felt great to play suddenly felt terrible to play overnight. It’s now a FLAT and grueling game experience.

And what this guy is leaving unsaid is, “I wanted D4 to actually be D2. Since it isn’t I am very very sad and bitter.”

Wrong. I liked D3 WAY more than D2. D2 kinda sucked, especially after level 85. But at least I could play the campaign on all the difficulties.

They didn’t reduce the queue, there is just no one playing lol. I barely see anyone, maybe 1 person every 3 hours.

When did the bare minimum becoming praiseworthy?

I was kind of watching this thread since I didn’t quite follow the points you were making.

Now mind you, I’m only looking at this from the point of view from someone who has only played with a Necromancer so far. You mention the lack of build diversity, but how so?

Again using my Necromancer as an example. I see a few different ways I could play this, and from there a few more options. For example, if I go with minions. I can go with a build where I hide behind and support my minions. And that’s what I’m doing this play through.

I picked the spells that allow me to generate as many fleshpiles as possible. This being because I can easily continue to create or heal my minions by simply using fleshpiles. I then picked blight which allows me to act as a support to my minion, allowing me to weaken what my minions attack. I further specialized in this role by picking and turning corpse explosion into blighted corpse explosion. Which further allows me to strengthen my minion’s ability to do damage.

And I could go on… by contrast my wife went with an offensive minion builds that gives her a bit more tank, but has her actively doing damage to mobs along with her minions. And her build honestly varies quite a bit from mine.

As I continue to look at the builds, I will eventually want to try a different necromancer that gets away from minions, and uses physical abilities. Which may end up sacrificing any minion abilities for passives that bulk up my character and focus on direct damage abilities.

That by itself is options. As for difficulty, I found that I had to ramp things up because this build I’d worked out allowed me to smash the heck out of things so I’ve spent most of the game on tier 2.

This said, my experience differs from yours, and will because as you’d indicated… you had arthritis and two strokes which may limit and change your play. And that is simply what it is. Given this, perhaps you may want to pick a class that allows you to play to your abilities.

That said, what class are you playing? I never saw it mentioned. :x

You sound like you’re gaslighting. Why are you defending mediocrity? Why are you part of the problem?

Necro currently only has one viable WT3+ build. CECT. Look up guides for Necro and ALL of them center around blighted corpse explosion and 90% of those also include corpse tentacles. That’s not build variety.

it’s not gonna die bc u suck.

Necromancer and Rogue, but the latter is still low level.

I tried various builds from Icy Veins and Maxroll. NONE suited me as they all had abilities I didn’t like, such as corpse explosion and tendrils. They feel janky to me. The one that’s worked the best for me is Kripp’s Minion Build. However, it sacks the golem.

Do you think actually using the golem would make a difference? I mean, I’d have to give up an ability to fit it on the bar, say Mist (which I use to get out of traps).

Thanks for caring enough to ask, and not just write me off as a habitual complainer. I have reduced mental acuity and reflexes due to stroke, so a more defensive pet based class should be my choice, but I’m finding it difficult to make it work.

Reap | Bone Spear | Decrepify | Blood Mist | Summon Skeleton | Army of the Dead

See, I don’t want to look at guides to see what others are doing. I’m having fun and figuring things out as I go along.

As is, I can’t use corpse tentacles and don’t plan on using it. Because trying to put it into my build either A) take away my ability to summon skellies, B) take away to use my corpsplosions C) take away my golem or D) Take away my ultimate… which is used to make more skellies.

As is, I could easily replace and build corpse explosion with the non-blighted version. But I like the safety of hiding behind the barriers that the miasma makes.

So so far, my build seems to go away from that. Now mind you I’ve not hit WT3 yet, but if things keep going as they are I’ve a feeling I’ll be okay. We’ll see I suppose!

The amount of blizz fanboys who can’t acknowledge that the game is currently flawed is pretty disgusting. If you don’t play the 1-2 meta builds for each class right now you won’t be clearing WT3-4. Wanting build diversity / wanting the game to feel smooth and fun is not something that should be frowned upon.

Tried it. Hated it. Freaking loath corpse explosion and tendrils. For whatever reason, I couldn’t get the feel for it.
