New things can be intimidating until you do them once.
I would not worry so much, just wait till the actual release there will be plenty of certainty by then how these new things feel, Most of the D4 Streamers will be there also making guides for you to make it easier to understand.
Yes a lot of it is hype and excitement currently, much like D4 had. We just need to wait to see how that hype is realized.
well I am a bit bored right now and the season is only half done.
But that might be due to really crappy seasonal mechanic this season, and every other class literally sucks except SB. I can only blast with SB for so long lol man I tried making different alts and just can’t… even with mythics
grinding and farming is really not bad in my book I can handle those as long as it is fun and there is a goal and it feels rewarding. CUrently that part is a bit lacking as well.
Interesting, I’ve been seeing different based on forums posts/comments etc Guess I’ll find out for sure in the early access.
PoE 1 I heard was that if you don’t follow a build guide, you will literally fail when you get to end game and there is like no way to go back at a check point and try again to make up for the mistake, instead people just fall off the game.
That is why the game is known to be extremely unfriendly to casual or new players.
I was done with the season 2 weeks ago. And I play Heartseeker Victimize Rogue, not Spiritborn.
If you are okay with the mindless farm for items to spin the RNG wheel of tempering and masterworking you should try mobile games. You’ll love them. Not weird at all that you’ve got a Diablo game made for mobiles.
haha immortal, “don’t you guys have phones” ? lol I can never forget that.
But yea, I am good for now I think. I can prob take a break or play other game. …or when I feel like i log on and do some pits and level a few glyphs and farm some bosses kill some time… all is good.
I tried POE a few times over the years. I never followed a guide and I never had an issue progressing. My issue was always the same. The game just wasn’t fun to me. The actual gameplay was and still is trash. All those allegedly amazing systems are DOA when the core gameplay is crap.
I had similar experience with Last Epoch. I bought the game and tried it the loot, the combat was just not there for me LOL. I end up regret buying it and came back to D4 almost immediately haha…
Agreed, that and making an alt was grinding 10 acts to get there. Lets see how Poe evolves. Hard to say.
So basically it’s flashy and more fluid combat that you prefer, that’s fine.
I prefer having my abilities able to be fundamentally changed which both LE and PoE offer. D4 is “take enhanced, pick from one of these two and one of them is clearly better”.
And as Steve said, I’m sick of killing Duriel for the same item that at one point I very much had the BiS version of, numerous times, only for it to be legacied.
But LE loot vs. this game? You’re joking. Craft your own legendaries, target farming for days, and insane possibility exalted items (2+ T7 affixes) that is straight up what D4 tried to copy with greater affixes. All the whining about tempering in this game, and LE does crafting far better than any ARPG I’ve ever played (have not delved into it in PoE).
Crafting in Poe is some of the best gear, with ah they sure streamlined the process. It took 90% of the grind out of it and gold was easy to obtain.
Yes POE1 was kinda stingy with ther reallocating passive points. I do hope they consider changing this approach a little.
I don’t use guides in any of these games.
But luckily I picked Ranger and I got this Toxic Rain of Arrows gem pretty early. That along with some balista spamming, just clears screens. ![]()
essentially , big YES, you nailed it haha.
I had to copy paste loot filter and i find it super weird and janky to use. I didn’t like it. And I didn’t really know what affix I was suppose to look for and there seems to be a bloated affix pool. Maybe I am bad at the game but as a new LE player, i couldn’t really grasp it at first I guess.
this goes with the crafting and exalted affixes too. D4 essentially made a simpler version of the Exalted affiex and crafting called GA affixes and tempering no ? lol
Looks like they changed the skill tree to make it easier you can now pick a main stat or life without wasting 20 points to get there.
Sounds like there’s still some content left to do after the 2 week mark in a season.
D4 seasons simply don’t have enough content for their length. Hell, there’s barely anything to do after day 3.
Considering how vast and overall unfriendly their passive tree is, I think their decision to make respec’ing difficult was the wrong way to go.
I’m all for making your choices matter but you got to have some sensibilities bro
Thankfully, they made respec available with gold in POE2, along with other QOL changes.
Well T1 is end game lol, that takes 2 days.
wow easy there lol, even Lazyloaf doesn’t dare to say this, he will at least play for a week or 2 before calling it done lol
I think for average player it is still good amount of content. Just blizzard is a bit off on balancing the avg player vs the slightly more hardcore player vs the real tryhards lol.
More end game is def needed for D4… more rewarding and worthy of doing end games
Untradable gold, that a step in the right direction to stop Rmt.
You can duplicate with a consumable in LE for slamming (or if say you need the same ring, just copy it, done with that slot), seal an unwanted T1 affix and add whatever you want to said item, and have tons of runes that help getting T20 (4 T5 affixes) fairly straightforward.
I like systems though. Possibly too much, but if you learn the systems you don’t brick items too terribly often.
But the concept of bricking alone is something many here can’t seem to deal with. On items where other than amulets you have far less affixes to care about.
