Hear me out, a lot of the game is about delayed gratification.
Helltides - collect resource and then open chests
Infernal hordes - rewards at the end
Whispers - get 10, hand in
Pit - rewards at the end
Undercity - rewards at the end
Bosses - mat farming before runs, only drops uniques now
Nightmare dungeons have drops throughout but its mat farming and objective based (mostly)
Rifts in D3 were a good repetative task that was all about blasting mobs and speed running, going from A to B as efficiently as possible and just mowing down hordes of mobs and its great for when you only have a short amount of time to play. Sometimes simple is good!
id love to see rifts return with some QOL improvements.
- rift chaining - complete a rift and a portal spawns to start a new rift.
- high density, max 1-2 floors (pits but with drops throughout)
The problem with d3 (or 1 of…) was that we only had rifts and bounties. Other activities are here to break up the boredom and repetitive gameplay loop.
With how sparce max aspects and ancestrials are, having a good legendary farming method is a must.
No. This is not the right solution. Good effort.
You just asked for a PIT dude, we already have it…
Thanks for your input, would you care to eleborate?
To clarify, this is soemthing id like, not saying its a fix-all or even a popular thought (and we know it wont happen)
Well at this point everything in D4 is pseudo content. Just so that less people will complain about it. I don’t see any difference between D3 end game and D4 end game other than D4 needing a few more steps between loot and you. Basically you go there, blow sh.t up, just in different density and areas and collect stuff.
Which one I would prefer I’m not entirely sure but I’m sure that I’m already bored.
Nope, the pit only rewards at the end - the difference is d3 rifts vs greater rifts
We can already farm legendaries from pit/IH/UC/HT/obols. Since i don’t actively trade, i’ve had a journey gearing up my character and i’m currently enjoying the payoff. I took my time and i got comfortable in T4 this weekend.
There wasn’t a point where i felt i was overly starved for gear drops. There’s too much trash and i think that’s a problem… but it won’t be solved by a new game mode that gets slowed down by stopping to pick up gear.
The problem is that blizzard sucks at math. They revamped gems and completely blew their math on supply/demand. They can’t balance classes because they clearly have no background structure for scaling skills/aspects/damage against each other. They’ve been raining useless drops on us for over a year because they can’t figure out how to balance good drops vs useful salvage. Etc etc.
Another game mode is just something else for them to get wrong until they put their ego away and shore up their fundamentals. They do math like a child learning it for the first time… they throw numbers out and then wait for someone to tell them if it’s right.
