I understand the seasonal character reset but …

I don’t like it ! It makes me feel as if I spent the last 102 hours for nothing (lvl73- 93) Seeing that I am fairly new to the Diablo series I am willing to give it a shot anyhow , however the four friends I started Diablo 4 with do not share my enthusiasm and upon finding out about how seasons work , have all left the game . Now this does not matter to much to me because it doesn’t hurt my wallet and ,seeing that the punishment for playing in a group outweighs the positives by a landslide playing solo is fine however for the health of the game blizzard may want to consider a new model ! Seems to me a lot of lost revenue because of this seasonal model Blizzard has in place !

There’s plenty of people that share that sentiment. But there’s plenty of people that are looking forward to season resets (i couldn’t tell you why, in this game), so i don’t recommend holding your breath for the model change.
I’m not sure if we have been officially told the full scope of what will still be available to do on non-season characters, content-wise, so it may be a non-issue and jumping the gun. All I’ve seen is people telling us, for better or worse, what they think it’ll be based on previous Diablo experience.
The lack of official clarification may be the worse thing for Blizzard right now due to panic quitting. But no answer from them might be the answer.

You aren’t losing anything with the seasons - they are a separate server. Also, everything on the seasonal server will eventually make it to the normal eternal server once the season is over. You lose nothing and will eventually gain on the eternal server. The seasons are just another option for game play :woman_shrugging:

So seasons are more like a PTR then, like i said I’m fairly new I played Diablo 3 last year but only the main story .

Your character is alive on eternal. You can work on them forever.

What’s the loss?

One thing i want to know is the stash are they shared or separate and when the season ends what happens to it.

Stashes are separate during the season, but when the season ends, you can move any items you want to keep over to the stash on the eternal realm.

Not really. Seasons give you a way to level a new alt with a seasonal mechanic that makes the leveling process not feel like an exact redo of what you did on the eternal realm with your main. The seasonal mechanic plus the battle pass which is based around the seasonal mechanic should make it feel more on fresh side. Truthfully though, if it’s anything like what D3 seasons were like, you may still feel the repetition hit you at some point.

Um, I guess you could think of it that way. It should be a finished (or as finished as anything is on release) product rather than an actual test, but the routine wiping, separate server and eventual move to more permanent servers is certainly the same (most content, there will likely be content unique to the season). Also, unlike a PTR, your seasonal character gets moved to the eternal realm at the end of the season.

It is partially locked behind a Battle Pass. The free version includes the first 20 tiers. Then they have:

Premium Pass (~$10)

  • 63 additional tiers
  • Two full cosmetic armor sets for each class
  • Weapon and armor cosmetics
  • Seasonal mount and mount armor

Accelerated Pass (~$25)

  • All perks from the premium pass
  • Immediately unlocks 20 tiers
  • Wings of the Creator emote

The Battle Pass is tied to and good for the entire season (ie ~three months, the seasons will be quarterly).
