I think Blizzard may have shadow nerfed and fixed Andy a little bit it is now doable but still unenjoyable

I just went and did Andy for the first time since they changed boss immunity. Nobody wants to do Andy since the amount of 1 shots, immunity phases and clusters of mechanic you gotta do is beyond terrible .

But I feel like they may have tuned andy down some. Now, it is not easier by any means. The 1 shots are still there. But it is a lot less clustered and the floor has rooms now where you can move around without randomly getting 1 shotted over and over.

Now, if you run a build and has good gear, you can go through 2 phases max, like the harbinger dog,… get those totems down fast just 2 phases and you will kill Andy…

I still don’t like it , but it is a lot better than before.

I just want blizz to get rid of immunity phases altogether.

You mean since they added it in last season? They haven’t changed it since to my knowledge. Seems like they’re planning to, but no idea about the details.

yea since they added in boss immunity, I don’t know Iggi I feel like Andy is different now…

Granted I haven’t done Andy for a while but last I remember it was a cluster-fest of 1 shots making her nearly impossible to kill and just flat out unenjoyable.

But I just went and did it just now several times I don’t find it that bad anymore. I have a feeling blizzard shadow nerfed / fixed her …

The only one-shot issue I had with her was the flame throwers. The rest of her junk everywhere was annoying, but I could muster through it. My issue this season was the fact I was playing with mages on the Necro, and killing those totems was a pain in the A. I took her on earlier in the season though.

I also have to go through 3 immunity phases. They can’t change them fast enough in my opinion. However if she’s easier for you that’s a good thing. I think her fight would be fine without all the immunity phases, 1 is fine, don’t need 3.

I can confirm I only went through 2 phases … I did it several times and 2 phases only.

I was playing chain light Sorc though…And I find that there are less of those flying red orbs that 1 shots you randomly, and the there are more visible gap around floor where you can move around now.

Also, minion AI is bad, harbinger and Andy, don’t even bother with minion necro lol…

Ugh don’t get me started on them. They can make our golem hulk smash wherever we want, but for some reason telling our minions to move or attack a specific target is beyond their capability. I don’t get it.

you can’t do neither of these … they attack whatever they want. Golem active is the only thing you can target.

And when minion don’t focus on 1 target the dmg is drastically reduced.

This season is season of mages… so, yea, no good, no focus targeting.

It’s great for any other content but bosses with other targets. I love doing IH for example. Maybe one day we’ll be able to control our minions.

I am thinking your build is tankier or quicker or your DPS jumped up a tier or two since than the last time OR you were damn luckier. I haven’t seen any changes since they added nohit intertmissions. Andy still has the same no telegraphing mechanics requiring near perfect maneuvering/positioning and debuff avoidance in order to be able to kill her.

Yea guys sorry my bad… they didn’t change anything with Andy… I was just lucky…

such a terrible fight …

I main sorcerer this season. I’m already in Torment 4 with decent gears to fight bosses with Crit Hydra build.

Fighting Andariel solo has been smooth especially with the seasonal POWERS!!! that break shields. Her immunity phase is shorter now.

Not sure how it is for other classes, but I’m using Smoldering Ember with Potent Alloy to destroy the three Effigies while standing in one spot.

D3’s Necro had the ability to command one’s skeletons to carve enemy mobs into pieces via the press of a button. It was a blast watching those skeletons instantly hone in on an enemy or boss & carve them up after hitting the hotkey. Why D4 lacks this is beyond me…

Yea D3 minions were great in that sense. However the WD minions not so much. You could get a unique that helped with this, but otherwise they just did what they wanted.

D3’s Necro was a blast to play. Ordering those skeletons to focus their attacks on an enemy was a blast. This needs to return in D4.

I also think, they didn’t changed anything on her battle.

With hydras she was even more simplier than the hound, with duriel being the easiest of the 3 intermediate bosses.
But yeah, with a mage necro, the domes could be annoying i can imagine.

Harbinger of Hatred is easy with a high-geared Hydra Sorc. I can blast those portals to smithereens using my Hydra turrets - bypassing Akarat & the orbs entirely. All immunity phases & one-shots by bosses need to be removed. Blizzard needs to learn how to properly balance their game vs taking the lazy way out via forced immunity phases & one-shot boss attacks. D3’s uber bosses were fun to play against & didn’t have any one-shots or forced immunity phases. They provided an adequate challenge & couldn’t be one-shot by the player either. That’s how bosses need to be balanced & designed in D4.

I don’t have any trouble staying alive on that fight on my lunging strike Barb or on my pulverize Druid.

Yes the fight sucks, but you suck for dying on it as well.

yes, i feel it too. can defeat Andariel faster than last season, but i think it is most probably because hydra damage is greater than pre-nerf lightning spears.
even for Harbinger, i don’t bother picking up those light globes, just cast hydra straight onto the mirrors to 1-shot them ending the phase faster.

I had the same problem with Necromancer Minions, they will fire at the totem from the outside and do zero damage.

When I played Sorc Hydra, I also had the summon wolves rune. Those 6-8 wolves zeroed on the totems and clear it immediately. I didn’t need even to spawn an Hydra on the totem.

Perhaps the way to kill Andy with Minions is to not use the hand of Naz, or equip wolves rune.

The wolf rune is actually a good idea. I should’ve tried that instead. I’d rather not switch out my build just for that fight, but changing a rune would help.
