I think Blizzard making people pay $10 more is stupid

$10 more for a, “special” edition to play 4 days earlier than everyone else when the game will be at its worst.

$10 more just to essentially be an early bug tester before the rest of the people who bought the standard edition play.

Maybe unpopular opinion, idk. But I do NOT want this to be an industry standard. I don’t care what the game is. It’s your money, do whatever you like but I think it’s just another way to screw gamers over.

Edit: Looking at this post with fresh eyes, yeah I could’ve worded this more nicely. I get why this upset a lot of you and I can accept it. I’ll leave it at that.

mate, serious? as you say, it’s our money. point being, we do with it what we wish. nevermind if you don’t do the same, fact is it’s an option for others.

if some people feel like paying 2.5 dollars or euros a day isn’t much (it’s actually their morning coffee at the bar on their way to job, for example) to play a game 4 days before they would if they “saved” “ALL” (lol) that money… well, guess they will simply do that.

you of course have the option to NOT do that and save ALL those precious 10 dollars, if you wish so. enjoy release (4 days after others who traded their bar coffee for an early access. not like each and any other industry does the same, uh? like, could you imagine an airline company for example, ever making their passengers pay for a lousy priority boarding or seat choice or early check in? that’s crazy stuff, crazy, i tell ya! out of the world…).

Okay? Like I said, it’s your money haha.

But aside from that, in my opinion it’s scummy when game companies do this. If big triple A games think they can get away with more then they will, and that hurts the players.

Other companies in the gaming industry will start to do it more and more if they see its a resounding success.

Exactly my point. I don’t want this to be an excuse for more big gaming companies to nickel and dime players even more.

For me, I’ll just wait and save my money.

Am I the only person who thinks this isnt the first time they seen this?

I almost think this is more fair than purchasing games that are unfinished to play them. Not that i think thats a bad thing either.

Ill tell you I know 18 people who bought the game and maybe 2 of us bit the bullet me and someone else who had just as much fun playing the beta. Its not that big a deal

Call it whatever you want, we’ll just be playing 4-days before you…

Well MrHoliday when your right your right. Straight shooter. See you before the game releases.

If paying for just 4 days early access is worth it to some people, that’s fair.

Just not for me, as someone mildly interested in Diablo. I have no problem waiting months after release to see what the game looks like then.

Thats true, but it is weird you dont plan on buying the game for months but you still are on these forums. Im only on these forums because im really passionate about D4. Otherwise i wouldnt have time to be here id be on youtube or something.

That’s a good point honestly, lol. I was initially interested on at least the standard version when it releases, but after thinking about it more and with other games to play I feel fine waiting a while on it.

Okey bud, see you later man, gl

Alright but honestly this game seems like its gonna be lit. Im sure alot of people that are on edge will make a purchase within the 1st month i know a handful of people like you saying the same thing but ill be intrested to see if they actually wait for it to go “on sale” their words.

Hopefully. Been wanting a good new ARPG to sink into, and I really don’t see it going on, “sale” anytime soon so I don’t think it’s realistic waiting on that from Blizzard.

Really just wanna see what the game is like after it’s figured out, bugs fixed, balance, and so on which I know will take months. I’d rather play then.

This isn’t anything new. There is no precedent being set here.
What you are fear-mongering and concern-trolling over has already come to pass.
This industry has been “nickel & diming” its consumer-base for a long time; long before this particular deal came about.

This is what I’m finding strange, is how content a lot of people seem to be with this honestly.

Do what makes you happy, but it’s not for me and I’m just making my opinion heard on here if it means anything.

what next? on like this, and they will even dare asking you to pay real money, just to skip the 20 first levels of a pixel character in some seasonal game thing! or someone one day in the industry, might start thinking people is fool enough they’d fork out true currency to actually buy some inexisting stuff like a bunch of cosmetic pixel things to slap on a bunch of running pixels online, and if you think they won’t, … uh, wait…
