I purchased the expansion using my xbox, and want to play on PC, but no longer have access to xbox, where is VOH content?

I pre-ordered ultimate edition VOH months ago using my xbox. I also use a PC for Diablo and have played with them linked happily.

But recently my partner had to move to another part of the country for a few months so I gave her my xbox since i play it on PC more. But now that the DLC is out, I can’t access the VOH DLC?? Did I mess up? I though the expansion was tied to the account and I could access it on my PC. Do I need to spend another $60 AUD for the expansion on my PC!?

different platforms require different purchases. i got voh on my pc. i am waiting for sale to get it on my ps5 so i can play voh on that as well. just using pc in the meantime

Knowing blizzard you probably have to buy expansion for both xbox and pc even if it’s only just one battle.net account and everything is linked to it

I may be wrong, but i don’t think so, but hey, at least they have the best game support around, expecially when it comes to release’s timing and deadlines

Damnn this sucks. So that explains why I can’t access Spiritborn. I never thought I’d find myself paying $200 in total for a DLC (deluxe xbox plus PC s tandard). Wow.

This is the part I don’t quite understand. What’s meant by they’re “linked”?

Game is cross platform,as long as your steam, psn, xbox whatever is linked to your bnet account game state is linked on all platforms

yes you need to buy an aditional licence. The platforms are different as per blizard (doesnt make sense to me but this is it unfortynately).

I purchased Vessel of Hatred on Xbox in July.
I’ve been using Xbox for PC to play it since last season on the PC.
I have all the Ultimate Edition perks available if I create a new character, but on PC, I can’t select Spiritborn.
I created a Spiritborn character on Xbox, and it still doesn’t let me select it on the PC. Says I need to purchase the game.

Same deal. Bought the upgrade on XBOX not realizing it was tied to just the xbox, I primarily play on the PC and it was not advertised in June that it was not tied to the account. Xbox Series X since bricked (Failed graphics card) so I no longer have an xbox at all. What a horrible, gross, money-grubbing scheme from Blizzard. Been playing Diablo for 26 years and I’m just tired, and disgusted with how greedy this whole affair is.

Ive been playing on my laptop using Geforce Now, which is great but now its not recognizing that I own the expension, even though I was playing on my xbox
Previously I could play on xbox, then log in through my laptop when i wanted to play from my bed. Now it doesnt show i own the expansion, which is annoying

Is this really the case? I did not have to do this with previous releases of the game. I puchased via battle net, and was able to access the game fully from both the pc and the xbox… are we saying that this has changed with this release ?

Well this isnt entirely accurate… when the game first release, I pushed the ultimate version for the PC and then the basic version for the xbox… but any release after that, I was able to access with both the pc and xbox.

Just to update this… this is in fact true, you can purchase the ultimate verion for one and then you have to pay for access for the other… so the total was 89.99 for the ultimate verion for the pc and then 39.99 for access on the xbox…

wow… so for the expansion to play on both xbox and pc, you need to shell out $129.98
Man, I am in the wrong business !!!

Yup, if i had known this I would have stopped playing the game and not spent nearly 200 aud on a DLC.

It was somewhat known that this is how it’s going to be during early preorder days.
I preordered the ultimate version on XB since it gave me a discount for being a GPU user.
Now I’m waiting on a sale for the PC std version, hopefully by this holiday season.

So if you have Game Pass, you can play your base D4 in Xbox and PC.

With VoH? That doesn’t work?

Edit: If that’s the case, that’s dumb

Very rare to have access to expansions/DLC from the game pass. 99% of all games on the game pass don’t allow this at all. You could probably count on one hand the ones that do allow it.

That sucks. Well, I’m glad I didn’t buy another VoH license for my Xbox.

If it was know, it should have been boldly advertised to those of us who use xbox gamepass on both pc and xbox, and who got screwed by their greed and nonsense.

Saying there was some burried fine print in a faq is nonsense. Especially for people who just want a refund for their preorder and haven’t played VoH at all.

I’m debating a chargeback, let 'em ban the whole account, not sure I care when Blizzard/MS is so sleezy.

Also, DLC purchase does work across xbox gamepass on xbox and PC for Forza 4 and 5. So there was precendent to not expect this to be the case. Again, if it wasn’t they should have been extermely clear and posted on the main ads for it.

Before I bought the dlc, I looked up if I needed to buy multiple copies of the dlcs or just one. Blizzard has a forum page from themselves stating buying it once was all you needed. That it would be linked to your battlenet account. That was infact a lie and the post is now gone.

So If I buy the ultimate edition on Xbox will the unlocks carry over to the PC if I buy the standard edition for pc?
