Took 6 months off the game. Been deployed so I missed a lot of Season 1, all of Season 2. I have stable internet so I was psyched to get on for Season 3.
I check online and lo and behold, I might just be the unluckiest chap alongside you all.
Ill still try it. Im excited to level up a char to WT4 (probably not 100) just because its been so long, and see how it all shakes out.
Still a bummer.
Won’t know for certain if you’ll have a good time until you try it. Not saying you’ll like it, I obviously don’t know you or your preferences in gaming, but at least you’re willing to give it a try from the sound of it.
You still have the base game + last balance pass. They have added things to the base game.
The critiques are about the seasonal mechanics and it’s mostly from people who had been playing S1 and S2.
try last epoch, its not complicated at all, it just has more depth than d4
I skipped season 1 played season 2 s2 was alright for a bit then duriel farming got boring and i stopped.
Last epoch is fun its something different. Its a little easy but its still beta
Still wild to me that duriel, dogman, and Andariel werent repeatable in base game on release. But thats another topic

Yeah, I haven’t played since season 0 and thought I’d check the game out again. Sounds like I missed out on Season 2. This is pretty abysmal. But the base game is abysmal. This season just makes that more apparent.
Based off of the forums and reddit, there will be a lot that the devs will answer for. I wouldnt expect a fireside chat where the negativity isnt addressed.
The problem is, the powerpoints always have this 30000 foot view of the game but never address our feedback in terms of content and fun gameplay loop.
Theres the 80/20 rule. That 80 percent of your problem is caused by 20 percent of the possible issues. In my mind, content volume and fun gameplay loop is the 20 percent. Meanwhile Blizz is lost in the sauce fixing druid rabies and adding pets nobody wants for throwaway seasonal content. And I bet when pressed on the issue, they will say :
“We hear your feedback. We will do a better job of communicating with our players. We want to give players what they’re asking for and plan to have the fixes implemented in two seasons.”
D4 is already old news in the gaming world and it feels like it never had a chance to realize its baseline potential because of half-measured execution.
Well…you can go eternal if you want. Its pretty clear, at this point, that S3 has slower gameplay and lackluster systems.
I think you can enjoy S3 if you didn´t play S2…
I still think traps are dumb, but main problem with S3 is there are almost no changes from S2…

Well i tried last epoch, i had a good time, but honestly it’s not a revolution neither. Mechanics are pretty much inspired by PoE or diablo franchises. The end game grinding is kind of similar. Loot system is pretty random and most of unique you loot is for other classes. The reforge system is ok but not particularly a game changer. So i won’t say it’s way better than poe or diablo. People should try it as it’s only around 35 $, but don’t have too high expectations or you’ll be disapointed.

You were saying last epoch has more depth than D4 without argumenting and i’m saying I disagree. And my point is to say that last epoch is at best similar in matter of depth than D4 and Poe when considering both leveling, itemisation and end game challenge.
Only true strong difference is that it’s a good game for 35 $ when diablo 4 is 70 with overpriced cosmetics.
Looks like the team that makes seasons with odd numbers, doesn’t realy have good ideas.
Last Epoch has the best implementation of a loot filter in an ARPG.
That, alone, makes it infinitely better than D4.
It also has a pretty deep tree per skill system.
That, again, makes it a far superior game than D4.
I could go on, but you get the point.
I don’t know if you’re new to ARPGS but the whole point is itemization, and last epoch does that with a lot more depth than d4, that alone, without looking at anything else, means the game has more depth.

You should’ve played season 2. that was very fun. I don’t know how far i’m going to get in season 3.
I recommend not playing.
Not sure who these brown nosers are, but they love Blizzard’s booty.
Basically, this season is garbage because the new content is absurdly boring and unfun.
I mean, Ill play to check it out since the games paid for and all. But the wallet stays shut. Hell, on the Playstation im not even getting psplus for the “online features” (lol), given that Im deployed and not trying to spend money on dumb stuff.
