Alright, I’m 60 (220), and using what’s now called “Copy Orange” build. I hit all the caps listed, and have my five used glyphs at 58. All my gear is one star greater affix, tempered according to the build, as are all masterworked. Some of the base affixes aren’t right on the money, but aren’t too tied to survivability.
I can smoke any pit up to 64, but after that, I started getting one shot out of nowhere frequently enough to make me think about calling it a day. I realize it’s hard to help if yu can’t see everything, so I’m happy to answer questions. I also realize you’d rather be playing the game. Haha. But please, I’m just a retired guy trying to waste some time and have a little fun.
At T4, Pit 65, what’s your armor and resist? Any damage reduction mods? Are you able to clear mobs easily?
Combinations of these will help you in your survival.
I got a Touch of Death build with 0% armor and has no issues surviving and clearing Pit 100.
Resistes are all capped before popping any elixir or incense. And the build uses barrier generation instead of armor, so armor is 0 unless buffed. There’s simply no affixes remaining for it once you get all the other required ones (think basic/core skill bonuses, vortex size and duration, resource generation, and stuff like that).
Oh, and thanks for your attention, regardless of whether we figure it out.
So you got barrier but you have 0% armor? That might be what’s killing you.
Unless you are running similar to my ToD build with 0% armor, I don’t think your build will be tanky enough. Have you tried having 1000 armor?
I once tried hitting that by rerolling some things (sigh, ok, it was dex. But I need everything listed). But ran out of gold and had to start over.
I think that’s the problem of copying a build. You need to copy 1:1. If not 1:1, you will have to move things around and that means messing up the build you are copying.
That’s just the thing. The build didn’t HAVE any armor in it. Just whatever was the base armor of the items. I may have to try another build, like the one above. I guess quill volley isn’t tanky enough for me. Seriously, 0.5 seconds standing still and dead.
Oof… just looked at that build. It requires a mythic. never seen one and probably never will. I haven’t seen a one star ga ancestral in a week either.

That was one of my early issues with ToD. I can pump more damage but no point having more damage if you get slap in less than a second lol. So I had to move things around and balance def and offense.
Try armour quill overpowered or gorilla overpowered
A few things to note is
-barrier regeneration is 123% or just 60% for gorilla
-275 maximum vigor
-100% vigor regen
Should be able to play any quill easily
With barrier regeneration cap and HP that high, armour and resistance is not that important but not zero (I’m doing pit 110 with 18% shadow resistance )

Can you tell me why barrier bonus needs to be 123% for quill volley? To me it doesn’t make sense to have over 100% barrier when crushing hand build needs only 100%…

For crushing hand or gorilla,I read only need 56-60% bonus
Quill is 123%
I’m not sure why but I think is due to paragon board
Found the answer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex_7xhiFe0M
We get lvl 1 earthen bulwark effectiveness from the rune and it requires 122% barrier gen in order to scale to cover the whole 100%. Dunno though, why 60% barrier gen is enough when used in conjuction with crushing hands barrier because when you drop barrier gen by 80% the druid bulwark will not generate too much of a barrier and that 40% one gets from crushing hand might not be enough to cover what’s left after the bulwark with 60% barrier gen.

Some of the builds available are more damage focused instead of defense and for some people that works better but I prefer a more balanced build and maybe that would work better for you.
If you are currently depending on things that are generated in combat to stay alive, like a rune barrier or undying or might, you will be susceptible to death at times when they are down. Speaking from personal experience running higher pits I am the most susceptible to death when I’m with someone else and they are pushing ahead clearing most things and I am trying to catch up running through a few stragglers. During that time my barrier is down because I’m not fighting and I can die to one shots. If I am in the front fighting constantly and my barrier is up I’m fine. During the times when your barrier is down your armor will help you stay alive.
You could try a Maxroll build, they are generally well-balanced with equal weight to damage and defense and may play better for you.
If you want to play one of the custom builds available online it may require more individual tuning depending on your gear and preferences. I find once you have enough paragon points there is flexibility in the paragon boards to tweak your build as needed. Consider resetting your paragon boards then following a build guide just to connect the glyphs, fill out the glyph requirements, and get the legendary nodes. Everything else you should be able to use as needed for your individual circumstance. For instance, you may need to load up on resistance nodes at first but then you find a pair of yens boots with greater affix resist all and you can dump those nodes and pick up something else.
As you know, you can run skulls in your jewelry to get better armor and also use the mercenary buff. You could temper percent armor on something or re-roll an affix for armor. Between that and your paragon boards consider getting your armor and resistance maxed and see how that feels. It will come at the expense of some damage but you may enjoy it more.
Good luck.
I figured out what I was missing!
So, you have to not only get the gear with the right affixes and tempers, but you also have to pay attention to where the greater affixes were rolled! The Yan’s boots in the build had rolled All Resist, and they author had hit all three masterworking breakpoints on it, making it 85.8% while mine were sitting at 44 or something.
That’s why I was having a hard time hitting armor, barrier, and resist caps. I farmed some suitable new ancestrals and redid a few things. I’m now sitting at over 3000 armor, all but one resist capped, and full barrier. I still have to find a GA All Resist Yan’s though, so I can reroll a few affixes from resists to something more output oriented. I can now safely do T4 dungeons without dying, as long as it isn’t cold enchanted. lol
At least now, I understand what I’m working toward. Thanks for all the input.

Yeah
Personally I’m doing 110 pits about 5 min using low resist(negative shadow lol) build dependent on barrier(the kind need to hit stuff to stay alive )
But depend on what I doing, just switch to a yen boots with MW in resistance is ok too
Hi! Thanks for checking back on me. I found a good Yan’s, ** to boot, and one was resists. I’m not capped on all three and doing close to pit 90 while leveling glyphs. So stoked!
