I miss rune drops

Rune drops in D2 are so fun to get. Runewords are honestly a fantastic system for unique items.

I wish D4 had a rune system similar to D2.

Personally I really dislike the rune system. Instead of getting cool item drops, you just get a bunch of runes and make the cool items. It gave you a way to target what you want to some degree, but I think it’s more exciting to actually have the items themselves drop.

I’d be for some kind of rune system that modifies the existing gear. Like take away the using grays to make the best stuff.

Same. Blizzard South destroyed this franchise imho. Ah well, at least we are blessed with PoE. Can’t wait for PoE2, very exciting times. Battle on.

I mean, runes we’re something sure. But when you got an amazing Unique drop that was even better in my opinion. Just like when Ressurected got release and decided to get back on D2 and got myself a Highlord wrath on my first NM Baal, i was pretty darn happy with it.

Don’t really have that same feeling on D4 though. And legendaries are pretty much just fancier yellow because of how aspects work. So i’d have expected to be able to find some pretty amazing uniques to spice everything up.

Also with how rare getting yourself the rune you wanted without trading, i wouldn’t feel bad at all about finally finishing an amazing runeword Feelsgoodman.

No it was just Blizzard the people behind Diablo was David Breviks brainchild while at Condor Games only after the acquisition did they rename it Blizzard North.

I was getting lots in the first two seasons of D2r. I even found a Zod believe it or not.

I had a decked out auradin running both fire and lightning DMG auras with dual dream and dragon and the other fire one.

Loved runes, if your drops kinda sucked you could craft some really nice mid tier items to carry you into mid and late game. Honestly more stuff to collect on the ground would be nice all together.

I feel like in D4…Due to how the system works, at this point i only pick up ancestral items, just like in T3 i only picked up Sacred items and 95% of them are still jsut either being sold to the vendor for gold or Salvaged for mats / transmog

Another Q, Wtf do we do with all the gems? they have no real value or use outside of making flawless which theres only so many slots for…they vendor for like 60 gold? In d2 you had the reroll system and gems being stuck in items so you needed new ones

Am i missing something they do here?

You are not only one who miss them.D2 has interesting and rich loot. Loot in D4 is kind of boring.

Nah gems have no use.

I found a Deaths Fathom with a 28% cold dmg roll. Chucked a 5/5 cold facet in it.

I jumped out of my chair when it dropped.

D4 will never have that feeling.

You can still play D2:R. I suggest that. If you are someone who doesn’t like trade you can go a whole season or more without getting essential parts to your build and everyone has been there or bought their way in. It’s a game balanced around trade and it’s biggest issue right now is so much profiteering going on with bots and RMT that average necessary gear is worth nothing in trade so it forces people to other means. You’re romanticizing a dead format. Drops are exciting, outfitting a whole character is not. And the mundane grind between drops, imo, is a lot more boring than D4.

We have, a bunch of times. It’s still a great game. There is nothing wrong with wanting more of that… that’s the point of sequels. I’m tired of seeing this argument pop up on the forums.

I most definitely wiill

what is with the we? mouse in you’re @… I mean pocket?

Runes are all fun until there’s Enigma as a mandatory item. Imagine D2 without this item.

Rune drops would be fun. But honestly i don’t understand how they could implement this with dgsht aspect system.
