I just made a 100% crit chance HotA Barb and it's insane!

Used Bloodfeeder and Mortal Draw. Added Smiter to my 1H weapon and moved edgemaster to amulet. I perma crit in dungeons! You guys should try this its an insane amount of DPS! I moved disobedience to my helmet now instead. It drops defensive a bit but the crit rate means you simply one shot everything short of a uber lilith or final boss.

What else you running?

usual stuff. I have one more aspect that some might call off meta which is the accelerating. Hitting50-60 million atm with quake and 10-20M with direct hits. Its insanely fast but I might be lacking some DR maximization on my rolls.

BTW I removed Warbringer legendary paragon and instead stacked damage nodes. Also, I took the magic node that extends berserk and improves berserk damage. I use lunging strike and steel grasp so I have permanent berserk as well which improved damage and move speed.

Those numbers seem absurd. Can you post your D4 build link? Curious what Paragon Boards, Glyphs, and nodes you have taken specifically. Paragon has WAY too much power tied to it and is where all the imbalance comes from.

Are these all target farmable aspects?

Let’s see - you can get to ~40-45% crit chance with gear and dex, +9% from No Mercy, +5% from bloodfeeder, +15% from elixir, plus a separate roll at 18% from Mortal Draw.

Remember the 18% from Mortal Draw is applied if you don’t get a crit the regular way; in your case it would be 18% x ~70-75%= ~13%. So you are maybe around ~80-90% effective crit rate assuming you do a basic before HOTA. If you don’t drink the elixir (because you may prefer 900 armor from Iron Skin elixir) it’s more like ~65-70% effective crit rate. For injured enemies you can add the Smiting aspect bonus (up to 20%) to get to basically 100%, but in that case the Mortal Draw is doing nothing for you.

I think you could drop bloodfeeder - it’s not doing much for you and you give up a lot for it. Mortal Draw is more of a question mark - you have to do a basic before HOTA (can’t serially fire off HOTA) to get the benefits so you are diluting your DPS. Smiting can def help against single target in high NMD…if you have +450% crit dmg then an extra 20% crit chance is like adding 110% crit dmg but what are you dropping instead? And in that case Mortal Draw does very little bonus for you.

I for sure agree that the best elixir to drink for NMD80+ is the crit chance elixir - you will need the DPS more than 900 armor assuming you are running disobedience somewhere.

My guess is you could get most of the benefits by just putting in Smiting vs. berzerk ripping or expectant in an offense slot and drink the elixir, while not needing Bloodfeeder and Mortal Draw. If they made Steel Grasp weapon assignable then Mortal Draw becomes much more attractive.

I dropped 15% vuln damage from arsenal pasive and took 2h sword expertise instead.
I don’t use crit elixir if Im not fighting uber lilith.

Also, its always a good idea to basic attack before hota to perk up the DR from basic attack and edgemaster/limitless rage. It also grants me berserk which is another boost to damage since I use lunging strike. Moratl draw provides rock solid synergy here since lunging strike requires crit to pop berserk as well.

I dont understand why you think mortal draw does little when combined with smiter?

Only aspect I’m missing in this setup is one more defensive on armor since I have disobedience on armor and edgemaster on amulet.

Currently I 2 shot dungeon bosses. Havent tried lilith yet with this setup but I would still need to make a perfect play regarding the wavees since I still cant erase her like rogue or sorc or necro.

You don’t need to constantly use the mortal draw btw. You can still spam hota on swarm trash mobs like spiders flies etc. but in mixed packs and elites its better to go basic-hota-basic.

@carrotfeets Paragon had insane effects for sure. Dropping Warbringer for more damage had tremendous help for starters. Then I aimed really high crit damage as well. Also I did something that I have seen no one do yet, I picked the Berserk damage and extension nodes. I really enjoy berserk mechanic.

Will share a build if I get some time (probably next weekend since I cant play during work days)

Alright… does it have to be Hammer of the Ancient? Can I use Whirlwind instead? And the appropriate aspects? Hell, can I use Walking Arsenal and still do the same amount of damage?

you definitely cant do the same amount of damage but I guess the high crit rate is doable with every build.

This is whatvim doing but i run leap and ground stomp. I have retribution on my 2h and ground stomp elites for the quick stun and massive damage bonus. Leap is tied to 2h sword to enable bleeds and mortal draw as well.

However my crit is only about 80% atm as i dont use bloodfeeder and i cant remember which is smite.

I might swap disobedience off amulet too and put edgemasters there. I dont see the point in pushing high Nm rifts with this build. I can already do up to 70s safely and that seems good enough for me.

No because they are using unbridled which will always be roughly 50% more damage than arsenal while using hota

I use leap to get around using a basic. Leap uses my 2h sword, gives massive fury as i run umbral with leap cdr ring so the bleed procs hamstring, ground stomp to stun (use on elites mainly) to proc retribution, and the 15% damage from ground stomp aspect, then fhwap everything is usually a crit and one shot.

I call it the “Leap Slam” build

can you provide a D4planner for your paragon please? thx

all righty guys, I prepared a planner there you go:

Very cool looking setup. What have you been able to push with it? Tbh I’m a little lazy to rework anything before season 1.

Highest NM dung clear?

did a 85 today. At 100 it still needs a good dungeon roll. Will try higher next week.

Please tell me areas that you think could be improved especially for NM 90+.

There was a player with a thorns build who cleared t100 the other day, although he went for other kinds of stats and the build looked a bit different, but he also prioritized berserking with all kinds of nodes as well as the berserking key passive.
He also played with frenzy+steel grasp (no unique for either of them).

Btw I swapped it out… Took warbringer again and instead removed aspect of numbing wrath and put in 20% DR from bleeding enemies aspect. Will keep testing
