i have tried today last epoch and i dont know man …
it feels clunky. the story is nonexistent/you dont give a f about it most of the campaign
class gameplay and skill casting feels like gummy sponge
where are the good arpgs ? i was raised on diablo 2
i was molded by sacred 2 and titan quest
i was long time poe suporter
i have like 8 various friends on discord, half of them allready said quit xD and go play dark and darker
now contrary. diablo 4 dont feel like a gummy sponge.
the skills feel like have impact
barbarian shout give mobs mini knock back i like this touch
the actual storm skills feels like a real thunderstorm and i dont know man
i was just really bored with d4 season cause i finished season , got spare 25 or some euro for new game so i got it
no i wont refund, i want to suport the small company
but i dont see a future
what do you think guys ?
isnt it great that games compete with each other? at the end of the day all games of the genre can profit from that.

I dont hate LE, but yea, it is clunky.

LE has been in alpha for many many years. correct me if im wrong, but id say something like 8 years?
it was some reddit idea that managed to transform into a game studio

2017 they officially started to work on it, 2018 was the kickstarter, and 2019 it went into beta/early access on steam. It officially released in Feb of this year, even though it was supposed to release last year.
So 7 years give or take a few months.

ah, wasnt that wrong then, was really just a gut assumption there.
for whatever its worth, i play it myself, and its not a bad game, but there clearly has been a hype that they cant handle.
Dude dark and darker is legit an amazing game, haven’t had this much fun in a long time
It was fun, but lost its shine when you got to the late game. It’s perfect for grinders though. Anyone who wanted the leveling experience from D2 would absolutely love it.
I do like a lot of their systems, but in general it feels very empty. Not player wise mind you, that’s a whole other issue, just content wise. It genuinely feels like D2 mixed with D3. Long leveling process with greater rifts waiting for you at the end.
I’m curious about the latest patch, but I’m still going through other games and polishing up my Uber Lilith fight. I did manage to kill Uber Duriel solo, now I just need Andy.

I bought it and refunded it twice. The last time I couldn’t even pick up loot…saw it sitting there, but couldn’t grab it. Won’t buy it a third time.
I haven’t tried it. When people kept coming to the forums raving about how much better PoE was than D4 so I tried PoE and it was dog dodo the couple of hours I played it felt like I was being punished for something.
So when I heard the same crowd and LE used in the same sentence as PoE I thought nah I’ll pass.
Although i do tend to play other genres when I’m done with D4 seasons. Right now I’m playing sins of a solar empire 2 which is a 4x strategy game, my favorite genre.
LE has a more complex skill system and decent itemization
However, gameplay wise, it just doesn’t deliver as a next gen game. I think it’s built on pre 2019 Unity engine and the assets feel a bit too cartoonish.
The animation wasn’t great and there wasn’t sufficient synchronization between movements, audio, camera, and screen shakes. The base gameplay feels cheap.
The competition for D4 will probably come from POE2. It’ll be interesting to see though because it seems like they’re opting for a more slow paced gameplay where you’re not just mindless spamming a skill to trigger 100 different effects. Combo and timing seem to matter more.
yea, they do have some ideas i like a LOT. most of it i like the skill tree, tho, to be fair, it looks more complex than it is at the end of the day.
im still fighting myself through ER but if you need help on uber lilith, you know who to call (or rather text ^^). (depending on the time of the day ill get you someone else tho 
)

one of my buddy said he skip elden ring expansion cause dark and darker is too fun ;p
not a bad thing to skip it for a moment. a lot a balancing going on

well i consider myself a normal person, and yea, its pretty hard, especially if you just try to go into it like the base game. exploring and collecting the tree fragments does help a lot really.
once you got into it, bosses from the base game like malenia (i hate her so much… ) become pretty “easy” tho, since many of the new equipments arent neccessarily over powered, but got cool movesets. ^^
for sure a great game. nothing for people who got a low frustration tolerance tho
i started a fresh game and am in new game+, and i tell you, i need my breaks at times
Same I bought the elden ring dlc did the first boss and had that itch for d and d been playing it since and haven’t been back on elden ring yet
is it that good? im actually looking for another game to spend time on while waiting for the expansion. d and d looks like rough graphic wise tho no? (not going to lie, im a sucker for graphics ^^)
It’s not the greatest graphics I’ll admit but it’s challenging even the pve then you got to worry about other players at the same time, it’s just my cup of tea really but I’m having a blast

All i can say is:
Its a good start, but they are in no shape or form any real competition… They have good ideas, and i honestly like the story, but no… They are a competitor for the game which releases part 2 allegedly later this year, in 2 or 3 years, but thats it. And if I am being honest - that game will never come close to D4 either. Just my opinion.
