I had no idea a game could make me this mad. I abandoned D4 after about of month of season 3 when the end-game grind became unbearable to go through again after fighting Duriel over 1500 times in Season 2 and they added nothing of substance last season. I saw some of the gear changes this season and thought I would give it a try.
I initially really enjoyed re-acclimating to the changes to aspects, the temper system, and masterworking, it was new and exciting. Without boring you with the details, I just burned through my best piece of gear (Double crit stat sword I’d been using for a while and it had 4 tempers left, when I got a backup piece I could live with, tried to re-temper for a better roll and no dice). So, I took the backup and masterworked it SIXTEEN times to level 4 and did not get the stat I needed purple once.
It represented hours and hours of the Pit, hours of looking for gear in Helltides, and over $100 million in gold. What a piece of garbage system you have created that can squander so much time invested with so little gotten out of it. F you Blizzard.
Why wouldn’t you create some sort of system that prevents the same stat from master worked to be rolled 4 TIMES IN A ROW? Maybe a diminishing % chance once something has rolled to get it again? That doesn’t seem hard to program.
I give up. I know this game gets a lot of hate that may be unwarranted and I’ve always had the attitude of “you don’t like it, then don’t play it”. But to absolutely decimate any fun I derived out of feeling like I was building towards something feels stupid (why would you create it that way?) and almost petty (how does it benefit you to create a system where people aren’t rewarded for the effort put in?). I’m extremely angry, and maybe I’ll cool off, but my attitude right now is that if I could remove the game from my hard drive and turn it into a tangible item, I would stick it in the porta potty at a construction site.
