I gave up on Diablo 4

I played a character to level 99, got good gear, then gave up on the game, I just prefer other games to “New shiny” badly made game, no endgame, items don’t feel incredibly rare like in D2R. Anyone else feel like this? That playing other games is just a good idea right now? I wanted to like Diablo 4, but I just don’t like playing it…

The cool thing about rares in D2 is they’re usually much better than blues by a huge margin. I got a rare scepter on my level 6 paladin that I won’t be able to replace until act 2 and it feels amazing. Rares in D2 are like baby uniques.

Walking away felt great. BG3 is amazing. The way blizzard is treating its customers is abusive.

Paying for a product that never worked. Waiting ages for basis big fixes that are beta level.

We all got scammed. Never again.

I haven’t given up yet but can usually only get 30mins~hour playtime before I have to do something else so I don’t fall asleep or get bored.

i’m thinking of walking away, too. i have been playing cross platform with an old friend and i think it’s the only thing thats been making it fun. however, it’s just not doing it for me at all since about a week into the season.

earlier last week i decided i would play a little bit every night for the rest of the month and try to get most of everything done this season but i’m not sure i can keep doing it. and seeing you guys talk about how good it feels to just walk way makes me think maybe it’s time.

rip diablo IP (many such cases, sad!)

If it’s a bad game, you left at level 10. But no, you kept going and going and reached level 99.

I understand you reached a wall and got bored and now giving up.

What’s the difference with other past Diablos? On D2, you were disillusioned to grind and get a very rare Rune but you dont need them becoz you have killed Bhaal Hell with just a mid level rune. When did you give up? Yeah, when you realized that you were on an endless loop and got bored. That’s what you felt right now at level 99 on D4.

You bought the game. Consumed it. You got bored and then you quit. That’s normal.

You thought you would play this game forever?

I finally uninstalled today. Game just does not work.

Going 20+ seconds where damage is not being registered, sometimes several minutes of certain damage not registering. Modifiers, status effects, character states, skills, dodge, evade, etc… just not registering.

I had to run a hell tide for Fiery Rose, because I ran out. I spent 10 minutes on first half of the Helltide Boss chipping away damage with 99% of my builds damage not being registered. Get the boss down below 50% hp and then 2-shot the boss at that point. Like WTF? Depending on the servers state, it just does not register anything.

Im sitting there trying to play the game but it does not let me. So I uninstalled, and I doubt Ill be back. Game leaves a rancid taste in my mouth.

Getting from level 1 to level 99 in D2R in 15 days on a new season feels fun, it feels exciting, people might get lucky and find that ber or jah runes, you might get some really good rare item, it just feels fun and alive at the beginning of a new D2R ladder season, Diablo 4 feels like a chore with no end game, they nerfed all our items that effectively made everyone worse, the developers of the game don’t even seem to know how to play the game itself, which is strange, for such a high budget game in the blizzard / activision world.

D2R is basically Diablo 2 with better graphics, Diablo 2 was made in the year 2000, a lot of people are still playing D2R today, effectively playing a game from 2000 in 2023, it lasted for 23 years, I definitely doubt people will be playing Diablo 4 in the year 2046.

Ubers is the only endgame in D2R that isn’t crazy fan made challenges like 0 to ubers speedruns, or llama’s recent fewest hits run… the rest is running campaign areas over and over again forever.

Blizzard has had 23 years to make a better endgame then Diablo 2 had, they didn’t deliver, also D2R is just objectively a better game than Diablo 4, especially for it’s time.

I beat the D2R in a month when it was released. I killed Bhaal on Hell. Whoelse to kill? Ubers there are stupid. 1x Torch after 80 kills on 1 boss? I left.

Why play Seasons if i know it’s almost the same as the first Season?

I enjoyed my month of playing D2R. Consumed the content. Killed the Hardest Bosses and all those gimmicky immune mobs to me. I got bored in the end and I left.

On D4, Blizz didnt give me enough time to complete and beat Season 0. It was a hopeless case anyway becoz everyone lacks powers in there. On Season2, they give us 3 months not 1 month. And Season 2 gives us powers that we are missing from Season 0. Now, i can feel i would have a fair chance to face Uber Lilith.

That motivates me and it keeps me going. I play casual; thats why i havent finished the game yet. I play at my own pace. We still have 2 months. I dont need to hurry. Becoz i know once i beat the game or even if lose in the end, i know i would reach my peak. Once i reach it, i would start losing interest and from there, i could leave the game.

I have the same motivation from previous Diablos… to kill the most badazz Boss/monsternof the game.

I know you dont have motivation becoz you facing Uber Lilith is a hopeless case. There’s nothing lies ahead of you. You hit the wall. You gave up. It’s normal. Game Over for you.

Chore? You’re no longer having fun. It’s time for you to leave. On me, i dont find them as chores. I find them as opportunities. And i am having fun on every step.

I am playing a Summoner. Reached level 55 to destroy Capstone Elias. I got all the Summoner gear one by one except for the Ring of Mendeln. I just continue with the journey. I got Creeping Death Heart… fine, it’s okay. I got Great Feast Heart… made an AFK summoner with it where i park my Summoner on an event and went AFK and my minions auto kill everything  . Then i got the Barber Heart that is pretty similar to the Ring of Mendeln as it explodes. This would carry me to very high Nightmare Dungeons. This morning, i played 1 dungeon and got a lidless wall unique… wow, a new toy… here comes never ending Bone Storms.

But still missing the ring of mendeln. All good, i am still having fun with my current toys. Still have 2 months to go. Uber Lilith is patiently waiting for me. I dont need stupid Torches like on D2. GG.

D2R is a game that despite not having a real endgame besides PVP it feels “fun”

Diablo 4 doesn’t feel fun, it feels like an endless grindfest to get an item 1% better than what you are currently wearing. It feels dull and lacks innovation. I could probably pay 20 people $120,000 dollars per year for 5 years to come up with a better game than diablo 4. And I wouldn’t need a huge studio or a company that made 7.53 billion ($7,530,000,000 USD) in 2022 to do it.

What an awful take.

People have played, and still play, Diablo 2 for 23 years now.

Diablo IV is so bad that folks can’t play it beyond 23 days.

this is where most ppl lose the plot… D2R is not D2. D2 still has the mana burn bug for example.

Comparing 1 to 1… Launch D2 was arguably just a broken and buggy as D4. Most of what people call D2 today is what was added in the following years. Go ahead, install Vanilla D2, don’t update at all… and see how long you can play it before bailing for something else.

I would argue that they’ve only had since D3 failed to make D4… but i will agree that should have been plenty of time to put out something better… I mean hell the span between d1 and d2 was all of about a year.

I dont get it. I killed its hardest boss in hell in a month with just mid level runes. Whoelse to kill? Will not fall for that 1x Torch for 80 Boss kills for Ubers.

Never touched the game since then. Would play it for 23 yearz? For endless cycle? That’s not for me. I did enjoy it for a month. Will not play it longer than that.

On D4, spent 1 month just to taste it with Season 0. Would spend 3 months on Season 1 and i feel like i am getting everything it got. I would end playing it once I reached my peak like how i ended playing on previous Diablos. But for now, i am still having a blast.

I have no plans to play this game forever. I just wanna see how far I could go at my peak. I know i have better chance with Uber Lilith this Season becoz i am 100% more powerful than my Season 0 summoner.

Probably not, by that time those of us that are still alive (older players are getting older and older) will be playing Diablo 6 by then.

Sure, but I am pretty sure we can find people that only played D2 for 20 days and threw it out hating it. I know it’s always greener on the other side of the fence… but with wisdom you learn that it’s not always so…

Same, so many good games out there to play buddy

That was my plan, to at least finish the battle pass before deleting the game, but boredom was stronger and gave up earlier.
