I finally went Ice Shards

I respecced and went full “youtube bro Ice Shards” build for the first time. I’ve never been an “ice” element person when I play casters so I only casually messed around with Shards/Orb/Blizzard.

HOLY COW!!! This build outperforms anything else my Sorc can do in every single way. No other build can come close to the amount of sustained AoE and ST burst. Bosses just melt now compared to any Fire or Light build I’ve tried.

The crazy part is I don’t really have the aspects/slots/paragon to support this build so it shouldn’t be performing this well. So very silly, Sorc should never have gone live in this state.

I hope the 3 page patch has some really good fixes in it for Fire and Light. I most likely will not continue playing Sorc if this is the intended “vision” for the class.

Edit- Sorc is still in a horrible spot compared to other classes even if you play the Ice Shards build. This build makes Sorc serviceable not amazing.

u will get bored of it in time, fun for lvl where u still can burst ur way out. once u hit the wall where ur ice shard can no longer burst its way through, its just sluggish fest just like other sorc build. but u were right, cold is probably the only via sorc tree at this moment as it has natural access to vulnerable damage with out the need for frost nova. its the better build vs all the others.

Ya I hit 70, and even with ancestrals my DPS is not keep up with enemy health spikes.
Plus getting one shot constantly from off screen by skelly bows is not fun.

Yeah I just hit 70 also. My build isn’t copy/paste to the letter shards build and my gear isn’t perfect - but I went from doing pretty well in WT3 NM15-20 to getting gadoosh’d by skelly bows and/or any mob in NM21+.
