Since level 1 ive been flurry, Poison imbue, poison trap, Dash, Stun Smoke Grenade.
Im level 56, it seems the higher level I get, the faster stuff dies, I melt bosses in dungeons, maybe taking 1 or 2 healing postions during.
I tried the concealment, Shadowstep instead of Grenade/Dash, I Hated it
I tried the Frost Imbuement/Poison Imbuement to go alon with that certain aspect, Seemed too micromanaged, I Hated it
Couple other melee builds like TB, It just seemed clunky
Now Im back to my flurry, Poison imbue, poison trap, Dash, Stun Smoke Grenade
It just keeps getting easier with a few Upgrades and Optimizations here and there.
I Literally Wait to attack right when im positioned correctly Right in the middle of a pack
Pop Poison trap, Pop Smoke grenade, Everything stunned, Pop Poison imbue and Everything just melts in seconds, I Use dash just to get out of a bad situation here and there.
Weather or not all this is gonna work on Tier 4, I dont know. I want to tweek and get a few more Upgrades before I try, But as for now, Its easy mode on T3
Any suggestions that would help tweak my build just alittle more?
Your question at the end confused me. I thought you were complaining about things being too easy, but then you ask for help tweaking your build? To what end? You seem to be doing fine. Though I would highly recommend switch Dash for Shadow Step. Took me a while to accept Shadow Step as superior but once I realized Dash didn’t break CC but Shadow Step it was a no brainer. There’s also an aspect that gives 2 charges of Shadow Step which helps a lot.
I was in your boat. Flurry, Poison Imb, SS, Poison Trap and then Shadow Clone for more glorious poison. It became too easy and I got bored.
Decided to get pure Frost and see if I could make it work. It does but requires a bit more mental engagement and strategy. But man is it hella fun shattering everything around me.
In closing, your build seems fine and will continue to melt in WT4 without issue. I still highly recommend giving Shadow Step another chance though.
I’m not quite sure what this means, but I run Dash and concealment. If you don’t like holding onto your concealment to get out of CC, you can use it for 40 energy on demand + guaranteed crit or 6 second vulnerability.
Also, using both poison trap and smoke grenade is probably overkill. You can probably get away with just 1 or the other.
In the end, Blizzard’s current moto is “play your way”, so you do you.
Im Still running super strong with this build. Now lvl 64 Destroying T4 Helltides and all open world content. I was reluctant of fighting the bosses in helltides but they melt
I did Switch from Dash to Shadow Step with xtra charges and the stun affix, Super helpful
Havent tried a T4 NM Dungeon yet, this weekend I will
I thought about dropping Smoke grenade, for an Ultimate but its just too helpful
A couple 800 Weapons dropped right away when I switched to T4, SO I Added the Flurry to it, Huge difference in damage
Usually the Butcher is what determines if your build is good enough or not. If you can win against him with your current set-up, then you’re doing fine. Otherwise you may have to tweak a few variables to make yourself more survivable.
Ever since the patch I am getting one shot by wraiths and banshees in Torment. I have about the same build, expect penetrating shot. I am at level 75 and I can not even survive in a level 21 rift now. I do not know if it was the patch or going from level 73 but the past week has been a real struggle.
It’s a matter of scaling. As you go higher, you should be investing in more life, armor, cc duration reduction, and damage reduction. I’m currently doing T40+ NM dungeons which have L94+ mobs, and those guys can one-shot my set-up if I have no momentum stacks. My L90 rogue has 11k attack rating, around 6500 armor for 56% damage reduction, and 10.5k life. I’ve been one-shotted by fire-attacks since my resists are weak there, but I have not yet found the perfect ring with +1k max life to replace my current sacred model.
But if I replace my damage modifiers with Life and resists, I know I will not be able to kill anything. I really did not expect having to chose. I am at a point where I need to completely respec skills and paragon, and regear to match what ever I was supposed to be using. I am getting seriously stun locked and one shot. I feel that 85% of the available novelty options are not viable and the real “Game” is setting the stats and paragon. I will go back to Tier 2 and see if I can enjoy relearning the game.
I went with a few anti-cc paragon nodes, extra armor, extra life, and an unstoppable skill (shadow clone) to break cc’s. My rogue’s attack power is normally around 8k, but having a max 10% aspect of inner calm on an amulet (15% with amulet bonus) ramps it up to 11k in just 2 seconds of holding position – this really helps with the DPS output, but it does mean giving up the immunity or invulnerability aspect that usually sits there.
